Small Black Connector Above Negative Terminal on Battery
Hello everyone, I went to disconnect my battery today to install a new speaker and I found a small black and grey connector going into the battery above the negative terminal. Can anyone tell me what this is for?

I believe that is the battery charge level sensor, if you unplug it for example your start/stop might not work anymore and your engine might rev higher at idle because the vehicle doesn't know the charge of the battery and therefore the alternator will work harder assuming that the battery level is low. Reason the start/stop might not activate is because the vehicle doesn't want to risk not being able to start up again not knowing if the battery is sufficiently charged enough to start.
