I agree with what Peter said. Run the engine up to operating temperature and drain everything out and change the filter. Install what the motor calls for and call it a day.

My opinion would be a broken coil spring. Since you are in Canada I assume they use a good bit of salt on the roads during the winter. Our Mercedes are known for broken springs.

Will a oil change shop have and use the correct oil? Remember you are driving a diesel and not a gaser. I believe the oil for your vehicle needs to meet 229.51 or 229.53 mercedes spec.
