Any tips on swapping torque converters???

I've played this game on a few cars, but just wondering if there are any tips or tricks with these cars specifically.

- Is there somewhere special to get to the converter bolts?

- Where are you guys placing your jack stands? I'm used to framed cars with solid rear axles and I'm afraid I'll crush anything I try jacking on or anywhere I place a jack stand on this thing. Any fancy adapters for the stands to the jacking points under the rockers or just center it and drop er down?

Sorry for the somewhat basic Q's but just worried about doing something dumb by accident getting the car up in the air and then laying under it.

I'll be up on some 6 ton stands I use for my 2500 diesel truck.

I use Rhino Ramps when I can, but if I need to use jackstands I put a block of wood (2x4) between the jackstand and the lift point on the frame.

In the front, I put my floor jack dead center and lift on that plastic-covered "nub" that mounts to a cross member.

In the rear, I use a piece of 2x4 under differential MAKING SURE NOT TO LIFT ON THE COOLING FINS. You can get the wood just in front of them and it works. I have a picture somewhere I'll dig up.

Here's how I jack the rear. (I pushed the jack pad all the way onto the 2x4 before I started jacking):

Thanks for the pic! I have the bigger set of Rhino Ramps as well, I could get the front up on that but then the back ends squatting hard. Maybe jack the rear up and get it on stands and then lift the front and slide the ramps under the front tires if I can get it high enough.

I always put a couple old wheels/tires strategically under the car as well if I'm getting under it in case it was to ever fall hopefully it would land on those and not me.
