If you are dropping over 300k on an investment proposal I really think you should be looking at the SLR. it has much more potential in the long run. All carbon and ultimately much more special. The SLS is great but I think that it's value will be a little more fragile as an investment.

If only I could have fit into the McClaren. It seems that they didn't give much thought to those of us over 6'2" in the design. Heck, I barely squeeze into the SLS FE. Hope they both end up being good investments.
Wow, the cost of the car is one thing, its the taxes here that would hurt, and then insurance. So what do SLS owners do for a job? Didn't Jesse James purchase one?
Surprisingly they were still an option for that MY. But yes they have been polished.
I'll be damned...learned something today.
Interesting that the 10 spoke forged (style 766) were N/C in 2013 but was the optional ($) wheel in prior years. Also, my wheel design isn't even an option for MY13...which is kind of strange because I think it was one of the more attractive options.

Those have been polished, the OEM wheels are painted in between the spokes and along the inside edge of the rim.
The base price of the SLS is increasing by $6000 to $189.6 for 2012. Blame a weak dollar and inflation.
Here's a repost of something I wrote for the AMG Private Lounge boards. Sums up my feelings about this and why I decided to just order a new one. I plan on driving it a lot more and keeping it much longer than the Black (more than 6000 miles a year).
Basically the SLS is an unknown quantity when it comes to Depreciation. My personal opinion is that it will mimic the Ford GT and BMW Z8 where you see good, well-taken care of examples for original sticker or better in 6-7 years.

You were very spot on in your 2011 post. You should change your username from Carac to Carnac (the Magnificent...from Johnny Carson).
The yellow SLS Black Series (300 miles) at RM auction went for $450K WOW!!
WOW I hope they use real flecks of 24k gold in that solar yellow paint because I just picked up a magno grey SLS black series with 2200 miles on it for $295,000 less than 2 weeks ago from a private seller in Florida.
