Quality/fitment/finish difference between Mode Carbon and RW Carbon rear diffusers?
I wanted to see what everyone's opinions are on these from people who installed each of these.
I have read and heard nothing great things about the Mode Carbon Luftstrom rear diffuser, but I have also read some issues with quality and such. Can anyone confirm or deny this and how long you've had the diffuser installed?
Same questions for the RW Carbon rear diffuser?
I'm also trying to understand/justify the price difference between the two choices... If there is any that is.

I know you already have feedback from me on the other thread, but I am putting on my RWCarbon rear diffuser RIGHT NOW. It has a thicker FRP base than the MC piece for one thing. This is good for durability, and less good in terms of being flexible for fitting. With that said, I just lined up all of the tabs and test fit it in place - everything lined up and slotted in place and it looks great. Looking at them side by side here, I think the weave is about the same consistency, but the RW carbon is 'blacker'.
IMO there is absolutely nothing to justify the huge price difference (MC is roughly double). RW all the way.
Do you have any pics from the install or when it's all set and done? I'd love to see how it looks from a few angles.
I'm assuming the install is fairly straightforward and you did it in the garage? I'm fairly mechanically and cosmetically inclined, so I'm wondering if I could do this myself instead of paying a body shop (that $ could go towards other upgrades!).

It's as easy as it gets. I have it off and in my apartment here because I have some other touch-up work to do on the bumper. It's probably a 30min job. I'm going to use a bit of silicone adhesive as well, so I wanted the bumper off to tape/clamp it along the edge while it dries overnight. My MC diffuser was vibrating/rattling a bit from my prior half-assed installation, so I wanted to eliminate it this time.

How are you connecting it to the stock frame attachments for sturdy ness? Have mine sitting waiting for install Rw but not that version. Stock one has attachments this one doesn't???

Not necessary. The tabs on either far side slot into the bumper, where there is a hole on a matching bumper tab. On the stock diffuser I think there was a metal spring clip here where a machine screw went to secure the diffuser to the bumper on either side. Or maybe it was a rivet. Anyway all you have to do is get it all lined up, drill a small hole in the diffuser tab that lines up with the hole in the bumper tab, and throw a little stainless bolt and nylon locking nut on it to secure in place. Same thing as for the MC diffuser. Diffuser tabs and the general shape where it fits will make sure it stays in place on the rest of the bumper. I'm using a little silicone sealant along the edge to make sure it doesn't rattle but it's not required.

I had my body shop install the brackets off the OEM diffuser. After the bumper was reinstalled on the car they slid the brackets into place and fastened them to the body mounts. Once all lined up and in place they put 4 screws up from underneath through the diffuser and the brackets, one on each side of the bracket. When I got it home I cut off the bits the OEM tabs fastened through as they hung down below the RW cf big fin diffuser. Nice secure installation.
Excuse my ignorance, so the bumper has to come off in order to install these diffusers? You can't just pop off factory one and use the adhesive/tabs on new diffuser to pop on?

No it does not have to come off. Like I said, I have it off for other work. Additionally, it's easier for me to make sure it's perfect with the bumper cover off given the circumstances I have to work in. Takes about 10min to remove so why not.
