My sources too said $160k, but it will have a lot more options as standard. I heard early as early spring 2017 (production starting in Feb)... If so could be a longer 1.5 year production run as a 2018 model.
GTR was supposed to be 2017 with black series in 2018 and mid engine hypercar in 2019... But they may have pushed every it back as year meaning the hyper hybrid AMG will not come out until 2020
They're also creating additional downforce by integrating the exhaust outlets with the diffuser. I think F1 banned blown diffusers around 2014 but nice to see Mercedes bringing this concept to a road car.
Don't know what you guys that don't like it are seeing that I am not
something something opinions and *******s etc. I guess Mercedes always struck me as having more subdued styling with smooth lines, but I guess this is the "race" model so it needs to look the part.
Interested to see how this thing performs. Pricing is better than I expected.
Hope they fix the one gripe I have with the GTS: the super light steering.
I'd be curious how soon they get this car into production. Spring 17?
I was told my allocation would be sometime July or August 2017. For pricing I was told under $240,000 CDN which is roughly $175,000 USD.
I love everything about the car so far, except for the rims, but that can be changed easily.
I was also told since I am one of the first 10 allocations, I may get a choice of keeping the R, or picking an early allocation Black. This is just speculation as I've only heard it from one person, but would be interesting.
I am reading conflicting figures with regards to weight loss. I am reading Road and Track and UK EVO the weight loss is only 15 kg (33lbs), not the 90kg (200 lbs) that has been quoted in other sources. The official press release has 1555kg for DIN weight, as compared to 1570kg for gts.
I am guessing its the 15kg that is the real number given all the extra hardware that has been added to the GTR. 200 lbs is a lot of weight to cut.

I was offered black too, but honestly since all the hardware will be almost identical and just a more aggressive tune & limited production is the only difference I decided to skip the black and go straight for the Hyper Hybrid in 2020.
I want to actually track mine so I prefer it not to be a limited collectible. I want to actually drive it and use it

The weight loss is 200 lbs, 237lbs loss with ceramic brakes option.
They did not cut the weight buy just 33lbs. Ceramics alone cut 37 lbs
Look looks like it has secondary cats.... I guess we already figured out the first mod to do to improve the exhaust note and pickup even more power... 2ND CAT DELETE!
