Hey guys, I have a GLE with the distronics star on the front. I want to downplay the silver. Am I able to tint the star black? I am worried something will affect the performance of the distronics system.

Can anyone advise how I can tint, cover, coat my front star? See photo of what I mean. Thank you for any help. My custom shop is afraid to cover it up.
