Bet this can't beat any of the ACR's records... Same with any future Black
Yeah, but the ACR takes things to the point where it cuts out the air conditioning under full throttle to produce more power. It's barely streetable lol.
The GT-R is only 15 kg lighter than the GT-S, and certainly not 200 lbs or some other large number lighter than the GT-S. So just 33 lbs lighter, which is not going to be noticeable by any driver. It's all the other improvements that will make it fantastic. I want one.
From Daimler's official press release:
Overall the new AMG GT R is 15 kilograms lighter than the AMG GT S, despite incorporating far more technical features such as the large rear aerofoil, the rear-wheel steering, the active aerodynamics, and the body and chassis reinforcements.
Is the demographic for this vehicle 16 year olds that want something more refined than the hellcat?
The fixed spoiler and color makes me want to vomit. What the hell are you paying for? This thing would be borderline impressive in 2008 not 2016. Corvette z06 (or 2017 R8 base which is in same price range) will eat it for lunch and neither car will burn oil!
SPOILERS spoil cars hahahha

This is the car equivalent of Steven Seagal. All talk! Other cars that will crush it for much cheaper: Tesla Model S and Nissan GTR (neither car burns oil, especially the Tesla)

I am sorry to hear you are not happy with your purchase but the car is actually less talk and better than its specs.
The GTS beat the GTR on the top gear track.
It has identical times with the 991 Turbo S, 458, GTR Nismo, SLS BS at Laguna and lags a second behind a Viper GTS and C6 Z06 Z07 package.
I am willing to bet that the GT-R will be in the 1:33 range at Laguna making it one of the best cars only behind the million dollar hypercars and the track crazy ACR.
You should (probably) call MBUSA and get them involved. I haven't personally had to do that, but I have seen more than one car bought back.
I'm assuming the buy backs were somewhat dependent on getting another MB instead and is a combination of customer service and marketing / brand equity.
Perhaps research some here and PM a few people and find out what they went through and how it worked out.

I don't know if you've lived with a car like this on the street. I have and it's single purpose. Your friends if they're honest won't want to ride with you for more than one block. Your wife if you have one will refuse to ride in it.
Contrary to popular belief you will not get white line parking at a restaurant it will be parked out back with the dishwashers monster trucks.
Most guys on track days won't come within 6 seconds of these times. So if your sole purpose is to have the fastest lap time why haven't you bought one?
I have one as a track car. My 3rd Viper. I have 140k on the first 2 Vipers. The GT will go with the rest of the Porches... In the back... way off to the side ....way... way behind the SLS. The GT has no clout or prestige. This is how an SLS gets valeted..
I agree that the SLS is wayyyy more prestigious than the GTS. The only time people get excited when they see my GT-L (lemon) is if they mistake it for the SLS.
That being said, the GTS is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more impressive than the 911 since they seem to hand those cars out to everybody who moves into my town.
Vipers are quite rare and I believe most men will notice them. However women probably won't know it's even expensive since it looks too Dodge. Nissan GTR has this problem but worse.
Do you guys think an 2017 R8 would look ridiculous as a daily driver? Even though I have a reserved spot I would feel embarrassed parking that thing at work. I believe that the Ferrari California would be less ridiculous but oh god I can't even imagine how much that thing would break. If I think Mercedes is terrible can you imagine Ferrari?
Does Ferrari give you a Ferrari loaner car? I guess that wouldn't be terrible. Oh I bet they don't since their loaners would break so often and they'd need to provide like 50% of the owners loaners at any given time (since Ferrari can't even design a button that doesn't melt or break). When my GT-L (lemon) is in service I get a C class with halogen headlamps and it makes me want to die.

Trade your car for an SLS and all of your problems, noises and prestige concerns are gone.
SLS is not even in production anymore: Mercedes without a warranty!!!!? Sure, right after I buy a used Range Rover.
Also I refuse to take a huge loss on my GT-L (lemon). I am going to disclose what a piece of **** it is to anyone that purchases it. I'm not losing 80 grand on a 4 month old car. Mercedes is going to take that loss. Mark my words.

Fine, I'll stay in my own thread about oil burning. I know when I'm not wanted.
But people have a right to be informed about what I'm experiencing.
The dealer is your best friend when you're paying MSRP for one of their most expensive models. I want people to know what it's like to accept "the best or nothing".
I want a GTS without interior noises and with a functional fast engine (not a 2 stroke lawnmower engine that burns oil) with good exhaust note. I paid 162 thousand after tax. Is that too much to ask for from Mercedes?
Goodbye forever GTR thread.

Have you offered to sell the car back to the dealer? You'll lose 40K on it but best to cut your losses now.
I'm glad you're here ranting, I was going to forget the past and all the problems I had with my previous Mercedes, but it seems that might not be the best idea. I just can't make a gamble like that on a 180K purchase.
