Will an AMG spin?

Hi Folks,
I am looking for some advise from the AMG owners. I have a 2012 SLK 55 AMG with 15000 kms. The Electronic Stability Program is preventing the wheels from breaking free on take off by limiting the engine output. I have turned the ESP off but the car reacts the same. If I accelerate hard from a complete stop, I move away quickly until the wheels began to break free and then the engine torque is limited. I do operate in SPORT mode most of the time and it works nice but the same situation remains. All the software is up to date and no fault codes was found. The Benz dealership who services the car test drove it and advised that all is working well. My 2007 SLK 55 AMG would spin and slide if I turned off the ESP. This is not something I normally do as wheel spin is equal to lost time and traction but occasionally I just want to have some fun. Does anyone have a AMG that will spin?
Thanks,
Rocky.

Oh yeah, AMGs will spin alright.

Lets start at square one.

You are sure your ESP is turned right off? That is to say, you have pressed the ESP button and seen it say ESP SPORT and kept right on pressing until you see it say ESP OFF?
If thats the case, then a certain amount of ESP is baked right into your cars programming and its never fully off, in which case you most likely need to pull the ABS fuse. You could do that just to see, but not knowing your driving ability I would have to recommend you do so in a big empty parking lot first. I would also put any sort of shifting control mode you have into sport+

You have 415hp and 400tq in a 3500lb car. You should definitely spin.

Hi Chris, Thanks so much,
That's great information. So simple but learning is half the battle. Yes, I understand now. I was pushing the ESP button until SPORT lit up in the display and I assumed that was the indication that ESP was off. I did not hold it long enough for the ESP off to show up in the display.
Thanks Again,
Greatly appreciated.
Rocky Brawn.

Even with esp fully on you could spin it...go fast enough into a sharp enough bend and no amount of electronics will ever beat the laws of physics..Lol!
