AMG / airbag steering wheel

Great inexpensive solution to the airbag on the steering wheel. Found this small aluminum AMG sticker on eBay. Sorry for the poor picture was raining out and took it in the garage.

Is it this?

http://m.ebay.com/itm/Hot-Aluminium-Logo-AMG-Steering-Wheel-Sticker-Badge-Emblem-Mercedes-Benz-Alloy-/262493499298?nav=SEARCH

The thing I would worry about the most is the adhesive melting off in hot temps while the car sits outdoors

Is it the heavy duty 3m stuff?

That is the part but if you search on eBay you will find them for even less.

I don't know why the thumb nail comes out upside down. If you tap on it, it gets bigger and right side up.

I'll one up you. Trim wrapped in 5D carbon wrap. Amg and affalterbach badges! About 25 dollars worth of materials.

Assuming you're taking the pictures with your smartphone, I bet you've got the phone "upside-down" when taking pics. Rotate the phone 180 degrees next time you take a pic and see if that works.

The carbonfiber looks great. It looks like it matches the carbonfiber on the dash.
Well done.

Did this too

I like it but I'm curious if the non heavy duty adhesive will hold in 150 degree interior temps when the car bakes in the sun; paid $5.00 for two of these off eBay and the quality is impressive.. Looks authentic. Also the raised "AIRBAG" logo is entirely covered by this... Can't even tell its under the new Amg emblem

When I did mine I filed the air bag off and sanded it with fine paper. Now the AMG logo has more area to stick.

I see ... How did you make sure you didn't oversand outside the area of the Amg logo?

I used tape. And the filed it with a small file and very fine sand paper. You need take it slow. The tape will protect the surface.
