Not gonna quote that since it has a bunch of images, but totally agree.
It feels like the W204 styling as well as E9X M3 styling were the pinnacles of small sport sedan design.
Like a few have mentioned, the 205 looks too suave and the F80 just looks like a damn alien.
This is exactly what I was trying to say before when I said the w205 looks too soft and rounded for a car with such an aggressive motor. It just doesn't add up.
Maybe with some nice pieces added to the body to square it off a bit it would fix that. Not sure on this one.
Come to think of it, the only rounded AMG that looks really beautiful and kills our 6.2L in power both at once has got to be the biturbo cls 63 amg.
I think we should pass on the C and jump ship to the CLS63.
I don't know about the e63. Even though it has a more square shape similar to the w204 something about it just doesn't sit well with my eyes.
I have said it before, and yes I be sayin it again....
In terms of character and personality
PFL W204 is more AMG than MB. DTM Bad Boy hits the street.
FL W204 is equal parts AMG and MB. It may even lean a tad more to MB.
W205 is more MB than AMG. All rough edges smoothed out with the body.
To many of us, the rough edges were the personality we liked.
Nobody likes my booty up in here so I am leaving you fatazz W204 lovers...I will have to make new friends who appreciate curves in the W205 forum. I promise to do my best though to man up and unwussify this one!
It's funny. I was at my dealer and they had a leftover 15 C63s. I had my old '09 at the time and was really curious about he new one. The interior was such a step up I almost wanted it just for that! But it just wasn't angry and I realized on my drive that was what I loved about my car. It was freakin fast and that engine is awesome though. Then I found my "new" C63 and it was the best of both worlds (for me). I really like the half AMG, half MB characterization. I think that's spot on. Now I just need to make my FL one loud enough to overcome the increased sound deadening they added ...
But the coupe... Oh dang the new coupe is just fantastic...
At least the C63 badges are removed! It's not a "C63" anymore and I know that BUT I love it and that's what it all boils down to, personal preference. I just turned 51 last Friday is this a sign of getting old?
I'll have it set up right you'll all see. What's going to suck though is my buddy officially bought the 09 yesterday. He is going to have the engine overhauled and go full Weistec. I'll be helping him R&R the motor in my shop. Talk about in your face brutality!
The C63S Coupe is the only good-looking W205, and even that needs some cosmetic work to equal a properly setup W204.
WHAT! I think the opposite in that the sedan is far better looking. Every time I see a coupe, I can't fathom how tall the rear bumper is off the ground. It might even be the same height as an R63 AMG...

The only part of the FL c63 that I still feel is very much more amg than mb is the harsh ride quality.
Especially with the P31/APX pkg in Canada which gives us the stiffer springs

It rides damn hard and handles awesome.
Hate to tell you dude, but P31 does NOT have stiffer springs. That is the old P30 package (08-09), which became the P31. They dropped the 30s suspension and gave the the 31s internals instead.
I HAD a P30, and trust me, the P31 is NOT a P30. Anything NON P30 is luxurious in comparison.

I know it's not a p30. Not as stiff as the PFL p30 but my dealer told me that the APX package in Canada includes slightly stiffer springs for improved handling over the non APX package.
This does sacrifice a bit of ride quality. Overall definitely not as bad as the old
P30 but still pretty hard compared to the average performance cars from what I felt.
Here's a quote I found on here explaining what the APX package includes

LOL! Use your imagination and picture it being like an inch higher with some non flashy wheel colors. I prefer a static coilover set up over air bags anyways.
The new chassis seems to "hug" the ground better when its lowered since the bumpers flare out more at the bottom.
Oops. Didn't even notice the LB style wide fenders. Here's a better example
In my opinion the W204 sometimes looks too short in certain angles. Adding an aftermarket whale-tail spoilers only accentuates this. (I will find a solution to this!)
They improved this with the C63 BS. The lowest parts of the body has a huge visual increase in amount of over hang it has on the front/rear bumpers compared to a standard C63. They extended the front/rear bumpers, squared off the diffuser, square exhaust tips, etc.
W205 follows the same cue as they extended the lower portions of the car while everything above it is super curvy and has a smoother taper. From a completely visual stand point. Once lowered it just "hugs", "hovers" the ground much more aggressively.

Even lowered no way it looks
More aggressive than a regular w204

You say that now but I bet when one drives by you for the first time your next move will be scheduling a doctors appt because you'll whip around so fast you throw your neck out.
Ever hear the classic "Dude, I swear, she looks so much better in person I can't find a good picture of her!" Yeah, well, that's the coupe.
I am gonna stand up for the W205 for a minute, cos my buddy LFM_Vancouver just got new rims on his and the new KW adjustable springs. We don't have a great pic yet, but it looks real, REAL strong in person now that wheel wells are filled etc.
^ A lot of people have chimed in about how bad the car is in the appearance department, but I wonder how many have actually seen them on the road?
I have. Only the sedan. When it is driving at you the car looks mean. Like, so mean. Or when it is coming up on you from the rear you move over because something aggressive as hell is waiting to rip your face off.
Then it drives by and you're left asking yourself if it is even the same car when you look at it from the back.
These cars are indeed much better looking in person. I will always rip the rear of the sedan for being soft though. I will, however, hold my judgment on the coupe because if the flared fenders come together the way I think they will with the front end of the car then it will be seriously good looking and aggressive
