IAT logs and what not

Hey guys so just curious what is consider optimal intake air temperature in our cars with 77mm pulley?

I did some logs and im seen 65 Celsius at idle fully warm, about 32 Celsius at 65mph and stays like that and at full thottle for 5sec it climbs to 58 celsius the starts to go down as i cruse, about 78 degrees outside temperature coolant about 90 celsius so yea with a wistec exchanger and dual intakes.

So what do you guys think to hot or just about right or pushing the limit?

Your idle temp seems high to me. 65*C is 149*F at idle. At 78*F outside, i would be around 98*F (36-37*C) idling and maybe 92*F (33*C) while cruising. You report about of 32*C (90*F) while cruising so that's spot on.

Given, i don't have a 77mm pulley but the pulley is disengaged at idle and cruising anyway...

I see but 77mm is actually clutchless so i think thats why im high at idle.

Different intake test shocking results

So i was running full intake you know the one everyone uses on the e55 amg with the dual filters and i notice my IAT are really high well for my taste atleast.

Now what i notice
Full dual cold air intakes
60-62°C at idle engine at full temperature.
32-37°C crusing
52-61°C full throttle 3rd gear pull till red line.

Now i know this sounds crazy but i ran dual filters short ram under the hood and this is what i got

50-55°C idle
27-30° crusing same speed as other test.
42-50°C full throttle 3rd gear till red line

So as you can see i got better results with short ram how idk but even the recovery after a pull was better and faster. Both about 76° outside temperature. With short ram outside temp 76 degrees.

Average crusing speed during both test.

Yea ill take pictures im also just shock but i left the ram bc numbers dont lie , i think it has something to do with the long tubes been heated up by the headers and then all the friction it does from traveling.

What did you do to get the +185 F to appear in the lower center of the speedo?
I am assuming that it coolant temp?

Thank you,
TK

Tested again this is what i got

Again tested with short ram this are the results all done with engine at full operation temperatures

Idle 0 mph i got 42-47C°
Crusing 70 mph 24-27C°
Full throttle 35-50C°

Outside temperature was 60 degrees/ 15.5C°

Im loving this thats only 15 degrees hotter inside the intake vs outside . . So how the hell is a ram more efficient ?? Lol literally i got ebay filters.

Ama test with the cold air intake again see what i get.

@78 mph seems to stay the same .
@68 mph seems to go up by 1C° so from 65mph to 80mph there is only 1C° difference

I got a load of logs as well mate with my 77mm upper (clutched version though) with stock intake and stock intercooler. Would be more conclusive if you can get wide open throttle speed runs and we compare. Basically what I did was start a pull in 3rd gear and only that gear floor it from about 60kmph up to 220kmph and I noted the start temp, and end temp and then recovery times basically, obviously noting the outside air temp to for each run. So instead of saying full throttle for 5 secs your end temp variance is quite a bit.. Give it a good run longer than 5 secs and let's see what temp you end up at.. If you game
