W205 C63 S Eisenmann Exhaust Review

Eisenmann is a company based out of Germany that has a passion for making cars sound amazing. They use to design and build OEM exhaust systems for AMG many years ago. Back in my BMW days; I had a M3 Coupe with a Eisenmann Sport exhaust. In this review, everything I will make comparisons to is based off the of upgraded AMG Performance Exhaust (PE).

Since I saw the Eisenmann system was released; I contacted Nate over at iND-Distrubution (www.ind-distribution.com) for additional information. iND is the official importer of Eisenmann into North America. They have a very large present in the BMW world. I would love to see these guys step in the MB world (no pun intended). After going back and forth, I decided to order the exhaust. My main curiosity was IF my C63 S could sound better than the PE Exhaust. AMG did an incredible job with how this car sounds with the PE.

Two days later a giant blue box arrives and I couldn’t believe how beautiful made the exhaust was constructed. I was taken back by how small and condensed it was. The install a simple plug and play. There is no welding or cutting required. It does utilize the console switch for the internal exhaust flaps. Total install time was about 30 minutes.

“How does it sound?” is what many of you are wondering. At initial startup the tone is deeper and louder. If you have the PE exhaust and started it with the flaps open; this is now the new baseline. The Eisenmann system is 25-30 percent louder with the flaps open & under load. I would describe it as “A Natural V8 tone combined with the idle of a AMG GT-S.”. You can actually feel the speed in your chest. There is zero drone at highway speed it just is a bit louder to make you know it’s there. I simply fell in love with my car all over again. If you want want to see how it sounds; head over to my Instagram page (www.instagram.com/jpbenz) for the “Can You Hear Me Now?” videos. If you have any questions please post them below or contact the team at iND.

what a great review JP ! You made me think it again ! I wasn't planning to install any exhaust system but this just made it hit my mind again soooo, would you recommend it ? BTW, there's no tuning required after installation ya?

Great review! After going with DPs, didn't think I wanted an exhaust or there would be a difference from PE. But louder = better, right? This has me thinking again about getting one.

hold on, the eisenmann is only a catback right? Also, JP do you have any DPs installed?

from the looks of it it may just be an Axel back exhaust. looks like this system keeps the section from the cat to the rear axel on the car. on the perf exhaust this part has (2) X pipes. 1 is valved and the other one is normal.

I would recommend it. Like I said I can't believe the car sounds that much better. No tuning required.

I do not have DP's install nor will I install them. I heard a car with a PE & DP's and this is just a tad lower. If it was a easier install then I would consider it. Yes, Eisenmann is a axel back only. It utilizes the factory X-pipe.

Sounds pretty good from what I could tell from the short videos, but damn... 3 grand for an axle-back exhaust is insane

Why not just remove the secondary cats on the downpipes if all you want is a bit extra noise? V-band them and you can revert back to stock if needed, and it would probably cost $100-$200 at a decent muffler shop.

I think with a x-pipe/exhaust this complex I do not believe it would sound as good.

I have to agree with this.... The cost is outrageous.

Renntechs mufflers are a full $1000.00 more. We drive expensive cars.

Exactly. Eisenmann has a long history with exhausts. That is why I went with it. I did have the Renntech exhaust on my CLS 550 and I was pleased with it.

Correct. It uses the OE flap switch on the center console.

I listened to the video clips and feel like this sounds more like a straight pipe setup where the sound is not really tuned for a specific pitch and tone, and it's just louder but not clean sounding. If you look at the valve side pipe, it looks like it is just a straight pipe. there's a reason why aftermarket tuners purposely engineer a specific muffler to tune the sound while increasing the decibels.

Yes it is pricey but you also have to consider the amortization costs over the few units most of these vendors will sell. We buy these cars for many reasons and for me, one of those is to be more unique. Thus, aftermarket costs are expected to be greater.

Sounds great JP. You now have me thinking about doing this. And by the way, I received my rear track pads from Portfield last week. I have yet to try them out but thanks again for helping out with this.
