Ok... so my car seems gross and you curse me for the stripes . Besides not puking back in the soup ball, it would be helpful to know if it's the idea of stripes, the weird color in the photos, generally the color red, "destroying" a well designed car and I should not be allowed to drive one ever again for this... or what makes you puke (or dislike for others)? If you hate stripes in general, well, that's one thing. If it's the weird color in the photos, that's different - in daylight it's a bit different... will get some photos taken. It's easy to say "I don't like it", harder to point out the reason.
On another hand, I was thinking about lighter/darker grey, or black/carbon fiber... even for the trunk element.
Anyways, I will get back with a couple of daylight photos.
If my car is gross, what would this one do to you? Hopefully not mess you up for life
Not a fan of the red stripe either. It doesn't look all that bad on the body, but it looks out of place on the trunk. I feel as though a black stripe would look better (think of the iridium silver + dark grey stripe on the ED1 c63 coupe).

everyone stated their opinions in fairly respectable ways..
not sure if this is necessary. I used to play around with looks like this. It's fun and reversible - but I don't think this does much for the application.
Aesthetic opinions are 100% subjective to each individuals style and preference.
Like said, everyone was very respectful in their expression of dislike towards it. I think I was probably the worst one and I was trying to be kind and not attack you personally or tell you that you've ruined your car. At the end of the day, it's your car, your money, and your call. If you are looking for suggestions and pointers as to what to do, then you are modding your car for the wrong reason in my opinion. You should do what YOU want and not what is "cool" or acceptable by the masses. I don't like it, but I respect your freedom to be able to do it. But the more I hear you ask people to tell you what to do, the lower my respect grows for you.
But if you want to peel the onion and know exactly why I don't like it, then sure, I'll tell you. I personally like aesthetic mods that are "OEM+". Meaning that I'm not going to put anything on my car that could be seen in 'The Fast & the Furious'. My opinion is that it should look clean, like it was optioned that way from the factory (other than the "illuminated emblem".. I think that factory option is absolute garbage)... Furthermore, that bright eye catching stripe just seems terribly out of place. You've got a completely stock car, yet a huge contrasting stripe down the side for no purposeful reason. If you were lowered and had a few other bits that complimented that color, then I could at least understand it. But I just don't understand it at this point. Hope that helps......... Happy modding
Not nice, mate. In understand tough crowd, but this is just not nice. I just got the car 2 days ago, after years of dreaming of an amg. Please learn about white balance in images... I don't have time and means to do color correction on these images, and as I said, I will/have to get back with better ones. Anyways, glad you enjoyed posting this, and ****ting on my car... using an image you did not have the copyright for. Cheers.
Wow man, you need to chill out. Like, a lot.
You're posting on a public forum. There is no "copyright" here. There is no safe area where your mom is going to protect you. You willingly put your words and images out there and anything goes at that point. Is this somehow your first time using the internet?
Furthermore, I don't even think he meant anything malicious behind that. He just put the orange on there for comparison's sake.
Even if you don't like the stripe, you have to admit that its done extremely well. Even Mercedes is doing that off center stripe **** from the factory, so I personally think it looks relatively OEM. Also with this selenite grey, you can do pretty much any color stripe for a nice accent.
HUGE THANKS to gabe for putting up those pics. I'm slowly pushing myself towards selenite gray and away from brilliant blue. Even though blue is my JAM!!

Agreed. I only stated that the red looks a little boy racer-ish. IMO, it would look better in a dark(er) color GL with your mods Gabe, don't feel bad about anything that other members have stated here.
Anyone have pics of a C43 with window tint (please specify shade) and/or pics with certain parts wrapped in black? Thanks!
Huper Optik Ceramic 40 on sides and rear. Huper Optik Klar 85 in front. There was light sunshine that day. The interior color also plays a role in how dark/light your tint looks. I have Cranberry Red interior.

lol. Ya know, I've used that exact term about Mercedes quite alot since I've been considering buying one. They have a few options that are boy racer to the extreme.
- The red accents/stitching in the interiors, ESPECIALLY the red seat belts. That's about as boy racer as it gets I think.
- The shiny fake carbon fiber trim is horrible. My buddy had his interior trim wrapped in matte carbon fiber and it looks insane. Mercedes shiny stuff is just horrible. And it's twice the price of what you'll pay to have it wrapped.
- The fast and the furious stripes on the first edition models
I've seen some others, but I can't think of it right now. For such a luxury brand, all these things really had me scratching my head. I guess it seems fitting when you want to cater to the younger crowd....but I don't think we're shooting for the 16-18 age group....

8% rear (I like my privacy) and 43% front (legal limit). Also had a strip at the top of the windshield done in 8%. Sorry on the lack of variety on the pics. It's been snowing here in Utah for a strait month so haven't been able to take any new ones.
Sorry if I caused you grief gabe.. that post seriously wasn't meant to be offensive. Just saying it wasn't true orange, but I have to agree it didn't look red to me either. Personally I actually think it looks OK, even in orange. Reminds me of the coupe which has the highlight stripe and matt paint. It's a nice car man - enjoy

Im currently hunting for an Edition 1 style stripe set for my swb Sprinter. The van is grey (lighter than salenite) and I want to do yellow broken stripe on the sides with a solid stripe on the driver's side, over the top, down the back, and matching yellow calipers.
Assymetrical hood stripes are cool.
