Distronic retrofit on 2016 E63S?
Hey guys, might be a silly question but does anyone know if it is possible to retrofit the Distronic plus option on a 2016 E63S? TYIA

Anything is possible - just depends if it makes sense money wise. You will need to make some additions. As long as the dual camera is mounted on the rear view, this will make it easier. Probably need to get at a minimum:
- New steering wheel column module (which has the rotating distronic setup)
- Front grill insert with the distronic module on it
- Wiring harness (if take out is not there)
- Distronic module which controls the function (mounted in front of the rad)
Probably some calibration and coding involved as well.

I saw those threads, but it happens to be on older cars. I bought my 2016 E63 that had a 111k sticker for 86k...got a really good deal. Couldn't pass it up. This is only a $2500 option I believe.

This is why I do not believe in compromise regardless the deal, I write down what I want and go and find the car with the exact options so I do not get buyers regret. Never cheap to retrofit and you will never get the $ back as it is not associated to your VIN.
Sometimes I get lucky like with my 2015 which I bought when I did not know how good the AMG CCBs were.
I dropping my 2015 at the dealer on Monday to swap to CCBs, then both my 2015 and 16 wagons will be exactly optioned. A $14K+/- mistake.. or about 10% of the MSRP.

You know what's funny, my wagon was at the MB dealer on Monday also AND an Asian guy with his wife showed up at the dealer with a white one...so there were 3 wagons there at some point.
OP - I do wish I got the distronic and did some research here. It sounded like despite being a 2500 dollar option, it took a guy on the forums like 20 hours of his time and like 4-5k to do the retrofit because there are a LOT of parts required. I decided I didn't care about it enough and to just be happy.
