I think black looks better without the Night packet.
Completely agree with you. Much better without Night Packet. Night packet is better on lighter colors like White. I also like the normal 20" wheels over the more expensive forged ones.

I disagree. I hate all things chrome on all colors, shapes, letters, and numbers.
That interior carbon fiber + macchiato beige is a horrific combination. . . Grandma's living room does not need carbon fiber accouterments. Whoever decided that 1/3 of the interior launch options on the fastest production MB sedan ever would be beige of all colors needs a serious time-out. There are plenty of jobs for such people at nice US car manufacturers such as Lincoln and Buick. Old people who love beige are probably not in the market for this particular vehicle, and if they are they're the ones that should have to pay Designo prices to get their terrible styling choices made whole in the real world instead of making the rest of us suffer.
Also, I hope its just because the beige really is that horrible, but the ambient lighting looks really tacky in those pictures. I'm happy to chalk it up to the fact that shining any light on an ugly color generally makes it uglier for now.
I sat in the interior of an E300 with macchiato beige and I actually thought it looked pretty good, It's more white that it looks in the pic.
I'm gonna put this down to the carbon, the red ambient lighting and most of all.... the photography!
Having said that i do find the upholstery options in the E63 are not inspiring. I think the front seats are ugly and the ones in the regular sport models better looking....whats with the strips on the topof the front seats, it looks like a patch job. One of the distinctive feature of the AMG over the e-class were the seats right from the Porsche E500 before the coming of AMG
The black comes closest to what I expect from in an E63 (largely because of the contrast stitching) but I cant stand the dinamica/alcantare/suede or whatever it's called.
I really dont get the top of the seats, above the AMG badge, it looks like pieces of leftovers sewn together. looking at the 2 pics below you'd think the bottom one is the E63

Wow you're right on with the seats they do look a little like they were compiled from leftover bits haha.

The interior looks like a cheap HK strip club and the "shift stick" in the steering column like my dad's 60's car..LOL
I do like the exterior.
This looks better than the original photos and clearly the flowing lines piano black is a better trim for this interior. However it still looks very plain. This interior and those seats wouldn't look out of place in a C-Class. The interior screams E220.
The interior is nice, not great, but those flowing lines in the wood grain is hideous, ugly, horrendous, awful, or just plain nauseating. Come on MB, you can design better than that. Next MB will be putting a 6 cyclinder into a car and calling it an AMG. No wait, you already did that. Next you'll be putting a 4 cyclinder into a car and calling it an AMG. No, wait....nevermind.

BMW M3's and 4's are 6 cylinders, sign of the times. Even MB 8's now a days are tiny, 4.0L, which is the same displacement as a 6 in a Porsche GT3rs. Its not the size of the engine MB/AMG is using in their "lite's" that's the problem, its the HP/TQ that they are putting out, and then throwing an AMG badge on it.
I love this blacked out E63, looks awesome, but like others have said, whew, that interior is hideous.

[QUOTE=Astolfo;7075428]sign of the times or sign of mediocrity? I would tend to say mediocrity...
I think sign of the times, smaller displacement engines producing less emissions but getting better MPG's. Soon it will be a choice of an electric car or a small 4, horrible times in the future for motor heads that love raw HP(hopefully not).
I shouldn't have brought up Porsche, don't want to get into another discussion comparing AMG and Porsche like on other posts....lol

Skip the P, :O
But as someone said that interior looks hideous. I think I am glad I got the 2015 and 2016 wagons.
If you paid $100K+ to get in a strip club, wouldn't you want some skin
