Heads up Display

Hi guys,

I just bought a 2017 E300 with p2 package. I wanted to know if there was a way to add Heads up display to the car after purchase or anywhere to add it?

Of course there is, but I doubt you want to pay for it.

In some market areas the head-up display is a standalone option that does not require other options as a prerequisite. For example the UK price for is slightly over US$1,000 including VAT. In Germany the price is closer to US$1,300. In Canada the HUD is part of the technology package which also includes active multi-beam LED headlights and 360° camera with a price of about US$1.950.

Regardless of whether its an individual option, to have it installed you need a whole new dash, a major component whicj in most cases is only installed by the factory. Having it retroctively fitted would cost many thousands of dollars. Its the same issue as getting the rear window shade after delivery, another thing that requires an entirely different door panel. Simply way more expensive to do than what its worth.
IMO that is one of the nice things about the E 43, it includes the AMG HUD which includes a rev display; the regular MB HUD doesnt, a personal sore point on my C class.

There are many after market HUD panels available that do not require the extensive changes/costs you mentioned. They are simply plugged into the OBD port that is present in current generation vehicles.

I was referring to retrofitting the OEM system. Furthermore, aftermarket will work rather poorly without a windshield optically designed for a HUD system.
