My C43 Coupe Build Thread

I hit it with Maguires compound and Maguires polish by hand, but it's too small of a part to use a buffer on. I'm sure they make some type of mini buffer for detailers that i just don't have. Is it that bad?

A nice shine would really make that look like a professional piece. Just IMO.
probably would have been better off doing it while out of the car, for sure. And they do make mini pads but it would never be uniform because of all the instruments in the way/corners, etc.

just a bit dull and lackluster.

Oh are you speaking of the center console? That's actually not real carbon fiber. I wrapped that in a carbon fiber gloss vinyl, which is why it isn't as nice looking as the steering wheel piece. Didn't have the courage to do a piece that large yet in real carbon fiber. You're looking at hours of Sanding on a piece that size.

A few updates to this thread...
1. I finished the carbon fiber trim pieces for the steering wheel.
2. Black hood badge has been swapped in.
3. Rock Gaurds added beind front wheel well, they are very subtle and hardly noticeable.
4. Painted the pink dipstick red. This always bothered me.
5. Switched up the rear emblem and painted it gloss black.
6. Made the console ash tray cover in real carbon fiber. I post a picture here which shows a good comparison between real carbon fiber and the gloss vinyl carbon. The vinyl isn't bad, but not as good as the real thing.

Next mod was to order the rear flics for the c43 coupe. After much research I found the correct part number for the coupe is A 205 880 99 03. When they arrived I was pretty dissapointed at the quality of these considering the price $230.00. They were a gloss black and cheaply put together. I also didnt like that the block off plat in the vent was just a flat black vs having an acutual vent pattern like the stock inserts. I considered buying some screen material to insert in there or fabricating the piece out of plastic with a vent like pattern but decided it wasn't noticeable enough to bother. I did however decide to take the unit apart and overlay the original with 2x2 twill carbon fiber, which I think creates a nice contrast on the black paint and matches the carbon fiber spoiler on the rear. Here are install pics. Terrifying drilling the bumper of a brand new 50k car, but it all came out well.

Installed H&R sport springs over the weekend with a friend. Stance looks near perfect- just need wheels to bring flush. One issue- I'm getting a grinding/ light scraping sound from front right suspension. I'm going to check torque on all bolts. Anyone have any other ideas of what to check. There is no tire rub or anything dragging on ground.
