..to make it not so long lol jk
Well its more fun in S mode and on i5 freeway there was a lot of other benzes bimmers and audis driving 80 -100 mph so i had to keep up.
Plus that trottle response in S helped a lot.
C mode felt a bit boring.

I can dig it. I've done a few long trips 200-300 mile area and I can get 25+ miles a gallon in C Mode. Averaging about 75 MPH seems to be the sweet spot.

oh yea man , you got that right , i had to pump some air when i got to San Diego.
and what weird is that,
even tho i left with perfect air pressures (dont think i have any cracks or leaks tho , as some of the wheels were repaired a while ago)

Don't ever be afraid of long road trip if you maintain your car. SF-to-LA every other week in a 2003 S55 at 175k. No heat soak in the summer cruising at 80 either back in 2009/10.
It sounds like you sprinted a few times cause I got a high 28 at 80MPH (nonstop break or gas) in my 2007 S550. Cruise control majority of the time. This is only based on my computer trip.

Just to add if you're not flooring it and cruising with a minimal of dead stop type of traffic you can easily get over 25 mpg. I've done it multiple times. I'd say I've come close to 28 mpg several times as well.

The 550 can be a solid economical vehicle on long highway trips. However I prefer to punch it every now and then and feel the mini G force effect lol. Enjoy your trip boss 😀. I doubt you have much to worry about.

Yes, it's a safety feature. I believe the name is "Attention Assist". It monitors your driving habits during the current drive. Looking for any signs that you maybe fatigued. It beeps if you are driving erratically. I've only had if go off once when I was digging for my wallet while driving and I was swerving a bit Lol.

If this was stated by anyone else i would take it as a joking around, but coming from you i would bet money that you are serious and have tried that or something like it to get better MPG.
I got an idea i can paypal you like $200 [which is probably what you will save in one year hypermiling] and you start driving like a normal person and maybe put the brick back in the yard.

Whats the typical speed limits in Vegas? Up here in North Jersey the max is usually 65 but most are 55mph. When I travel down south I noticed it's 70MPH usually.

This is from my return trip this weekend. I got caught in traffic a few times. Plus I was having some fun with an Audi for a third of the trip. 26mpg is the average I get on any decent length trip that's primarily on the highway.
