Would you add this to your C450/C43?
I am considering adding a couple of the red accent touches to my black C450 like appears on First Edition MBs. Saw it on a black C63s last weekend and I liked it. Now trying to decide if I think it would look good on mine or maybe a little too cheesy.
Here's a C63s First Edition with all of the red accents. I'd just do the grille perimeter and a little strip on the side mirrors.
Here's a couple shots of a black w205 with the diamond grille like mine that did that piece.
I have these CF side mirrors and prefer the thin red strip like below vs the more "design" strip that's on First Editions.
Anyway, I'd love to hear people's opinions on doing it or not. I've been leaning towards doing it, but going back and forth. Not sure if those 2 red pieces (grille and mirrors) would look too random without also having the red on the wheels and calipers like on First Editions.

If you like it, do it. It's your car. On many forums people will try to influence others decisions. Go with what you like.
To answer your question, I would not do it to mine.

Yeah, I generally agree that asking forum members' opinion on subjective stuff like this isn't productive. But I've really been going back and forth so was curious what others make of it. I do like it on the First Editions, but that's authentic and it looks better with the red on the wheels and calipers too. Without those pieces, I think the grille and mirror red "accents" may look a little out of place, random, and "cheapening" to a nice car.

Personally I wouldn't do it, but if you like it that is what matters.
I think the reason people go out of their way to make their C63 look racy is because...it looks too understated.

I think that's right and frankly is part of what made me consider this little red touch. To the layman, there just isn't a ton of external differentiation between my C450 and a grandma's C300.

Having owned a C400 for 3 years before getting my C43, I actually find there are things that make the car jump out more than my C400, which also had the similar 19" multi spokes. The stance and the grilles, front and back, made all the difference. The wheels, slightly thicker looking also seem to be pushed out a little more than my C400. Car is definitely lower as well.
My car being Brilliant Blue definitely stands out too, but people seem to notice the car a heck of a lot more than my C400! All this to say that the C63 needs more, something to make it stand out the way the older C63 did.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Yeah, to each their own but, ^ barf!
I think the only place to add a wild/contrasting color is the rims. And some cars don't pull off bright & wild rims well in my opinion. The C class would be one of them.

I think it gives the car some character and uniqueness. Looks especially good on black.

But yeah, J, I could go red accents, with or without the red machined stripe (or paint or whatever) around the wheel. Bottom line, on Planet Earth - like it or not - red on black or black on red often go well together.
Hell, I even like the Jersey Boy's setup above. Not my first choice of setup, but I'd drive it.......proudly. Just can't creep up on anyone.
