I change the oil once a year... Just cause.... I only have averaged 5,500/year in the 2+ years I have owned it. My mileage will slow down now but, it's sooooo damn much fun to drive!
Anyways this is what filters look like on a CA car at 20,000 miles. I will change probably once a year with the oil from now on.
E Coupe C207, ML W166, ML W164, Sprinter 1500/144, W111 SB220 Fintail(s), A5 chassis Beetle 5+5
Changing the filers, or just opening the box will dump dirt into the engine. It shows up as Si in used oil analysis and excess top end wear, tin and chrome.
Also, a new filter is porous and lets in additional dirt until it gets loaded a bit. I would never consider less than 2 years, 30k miles.
how accessible are these filters? they are quoting me $475 to replace mine (I just bought the car and havent even seen it yet) and till I arrange shipping I could or could not get things done...

My MB Dealer charged me NO labor to install. Maybe I paid too much for the parts? ☺️
