Will tints be a problem at inspection? Let's see your tints!
Just got the bad boys done today on my
leased 2016. Just a quick question; will it be a problem during my inspection? Friend told me there's this new "law" or something stupid, I usually do my inspection at the dealer. Aside from that let me see your tinted cars!!

If it's not legal in your city/state, you're likely going to have a problem.

35% tint all around. Have always had tint on all windows in my previous cars. Haven't gotten a ticket so far. No problems with inspection (because they don't check for tints in CA).

I know some tints are completely illegal in some states, but in TX as long as the front 2 windows read 25%+, you're good. The back can be as dark as you want. I know a "clear" film is also allowed for the front windshield.

5% Limo tint all around
California tint law:
Windshield doesn’t legally allow any tinting applied to it
Front side windows must pass through more than 70% of light inside your car (70% VLT)
Back side windows and rear window can have any darkness

Go somewhere were you are friends with the mechanic. New york now won't let you pass inspection if your tints are to dark. Ive been going to the same shop for over 10+years so ya they let me pass with my 5% tints

I know a spot in the hood that will let you slide if you slide them $50. These spots are all around America you just need to network or just ask shops you think will let you slide.
But I do warn you, In my state (NC), if you fail at one location, you have to fix what failed and get it reinspected at the same location you failed at. You cant just fail at one location and go to another spot and try again.
I have 15% all around

Oh no, I didn't go Limo in the front. That would be a nightmare, I had the lowest up front which is 80% I believe and decided to remove it. I missed the crisp clear view

This is a 35% tint all around, nothing on the windshield. I have previously gone with 20% all around, but I was afraid the car is a little too flashy for me to not get banged.
Although I think my car is technically NYC legal, my buddy looked at me and said, "you tinted it after you left".
This pic was taken with the roof open.

I'm planning on tinting my car but I want to put it on the outside of the windows so I don't have to pull the interior apart.. is that possible?

Wow, I am in NJ and saw that DMV doesn’t allow it. I only wanted 20% nothing more, just enough for the look. I am very hesitant because I may not be as lucky as you and get pulled over
