Serious trade Question

I have a slight dilemma and I want to make sure Im doing the right thing.

I have a 2003 SL500 Sport that I bought a few months ago with 68,000 miles for a very good price because the title is rebuilt due to theft and recovery.

Now here the dilemma, the previous owner just saw the car today after I modified it and fell in love with it so now he is offering me a trade for his 04 CL55 AMG with 120,000 miles on it clean title.

Would this be a good trade, I would need to come up with 2k for the exchange.

Also the CL has been modified with intakes, injectors and pulley to push 600+

here is a picture of the SL and the CL55

Unfortunately neither car has any real value because of their age. So at the end of the day, it is value to you, which you like the best and which is going to be the cheapest to maintain.

I really like the look of the SL. LOVE THE COLOR.

Personally I have a 05 CL55. My wife had a 2011 SL. I hated the SL, the CL was a far superior car: ride, handling, balance, speed, comfort, etc. The only thing the SL had going for it was the top went down (which she never used). But those are unique personal views.

So at the end of the day, it is what one you like the most.

I would keep the SL, really.
120k miles is a lot.

AMG value around 5000$ is higher at least if 100% original

triple check the ABC and put Coilpack on Xentry Das fault counter before you buy!

For sure the SL is drop dead gorgeous and wins the looks category.

^Agreed!

The SL is a total head turner. The CL to me looks dated, but I prefer it just for the motor and the similar interior of a w220. I vote CL55.

In terms of mileage and looks, the SL is the clear winner. However, in terms of drivability, the CL wins hands down. So at the end of the day its what is important to you. For me, I would go with the CL notwithstanding the mileage and looks because drivability is the most important to me.

I drove both a CL and an SL (albeit an 11 which presumably drives better than an 03) for years and the SL is an awful car in terms of drivability. On a scale of 1 to 10 the CL is an 8 or 9 and the SL is maybe a 3 or 4. (Sorry, I know you currently have the SL and I am merely trying to tell you how much better the CL is to drive). It is not even close.
