The tl;dr version is that they gave him an 18 build and released it before it had passed regulatory inspection. There's something wrong with the 18's that's holding them up from being roadworthy. So they gave him a brand new $200k SL63 to beat on until they get the situation sorted, and he's whining about it like a little girl.

The tl;dr version is that they gave him an 18 build and released it before it had passed regulatory inspection. There's something wrong with the 18's that's holding them up from being roadworthy. So they gave him a brand new $200k SL63 to beat on until they get the situation sorted, and he's whining about it like a little girl.

I hated the SL. Felt like a damn roller skate to me, couldn't wait to get out of it.
Pretty small track with a lot of corners, cool damp day, so maybe not the best test of it.
Having said that, I can beat on someone elses car awhile, and it would be good for cruising
the boulevard in the summer and some straight line runs.

I think they should restart the guy's warranty from when he can legally drive the car and he should enjoy the SL63 in the meantime.
This whole situation would have been solved very quickly ten years ago...socially media, wanting to go viral, etc are all gonna drag this thing out for no reason.

That guy is an *******. I have no time for people like that. Yes, the dealer made a mistake. But they have given you a more expensive car to use until the new car can be used on the roads.
Not sure what the problem is. You get to drive around in a SL63 for as long as is required. Hell I wouldn't mine that.

I dont think theres a problem with the 2018 coupe necessarily. But they didnt plan on releasing it this early. The 2017 c63s allocations ended very early around april. So he tried to buy a 2017 and expected to get it in the beginning of the summer. The dealership didnt tell him that but instead just said that hes gettin a 2018 instead without telling him that his ETA would be late summer. The problem is that the 2018 C63s hasnt been released yet officially, so there is no reason for mercedes to rush regulation since its always been known that it will release in August. Many 2018 C63s have been built and shipped to their designated dealers already but they must wait on corporate for the release before delivery and this dealership failed to do so.

I can't imagine the pain and suffering he's going through.

hey! i'm a millennials. Hard to listen to him b**** about it. I'm guessing he bit** about it for 20 min because he want more youtube views & he want more from that mercedes dealer cause he mention free maintenance package... There was no reason for him to get angry (guess he wanted more).. They offered him a 200k amg! it's not like they're keeping his c63 for several years.. It's only a few weeks. Didn't see any reason for him to b**** about it and get stress out.. I'm guessing he's just pretending to get more than the sl63

This whole situation is ridiculous. Firstly, the guy knew the day he took the car that it wasn't able to be registered at the DMV. What happens if he gets pulled over or the car gets stolen? Secondly, AutoVlog doesn't care about this guy's car, he only used it as an opportunity to make another 11 minute, zero-substance, video with a misleading, click-bait title. I followed that guy up until he got the AMG, and then he became unbearable.
