I'm confused... I have an 09. Is that considered to be a '2010 & older'? Model?

2010 E63, 35k miles and I'm 95% certain these faulty headbolts are in my car...

My concern is the car doesn't idle right, bounces from 9-1100 RPM. And is really jerky when cold.

Is this a symptom of a headbolt issue ?

And with 35k miles, am I past any concern for the headbolts being faulty...

Thank you, yeah it looked like the engine number was at least a few thousand or more away from the affected range.

'Research' should always begin at the FAQ, bruh - that's what it's there for. There is a whole FAQ section on headbolts, where you'll find an explanation of the problem and its symptoms.
Clif notes:
1. You don't have symptoms . . . yet.
2. Risk increases with time and mileage.

We're always happy to help those who have first made an effort to help themselves. Much less so for those who never tried, especially when the question has already been addressed a thousand times. There are over 900 posts on this topic in this string alone, so it's clearly something that has been covered ad nauseum.

You have the old design bolts. Rough idle, jerkiness etc could be related because coolant may be entering the combustion chamber.

The more mileage/time the old bolts are submerged in coolant the higher the risk. Your bolts are faulty, it's not a matter of if but when they will fail.

Your first question was on the clueless side given the title of the thread is all.

Have a read though this WHOLE tread and you may understand. When someone asks the same clueless question over and over and over people get annoyed.

Good luck with the repairs. If you are in fact consuming coolant your head gasket is compromised so your heads need to come off for a proper repair.
