Timing seems to be off!
Hello!
I'm new to MB world. I just bought this pretty nice MB E350 Wagon W211with 170k on it. Body on it is spectacular but engine has some issues. What appears to me is some one was changing serpentine belt (it looks brand new), and screwed up the timing. So first question, is it possible to screw up timing while changing serpentine belt? I'm not sure, I'm used to a audis with timing belts. So the second question is, if it's possible to screw up that way, then can you fix it the same way!
I did the test, where you match up those circles in sensor holes with a crank shaft pulley to be at 305degree mark, and I'm seems to be off by roughly 180degrees. I used this video, but got confused at 10:49, where he says he's off by 180degrees, https://youtu.be/xohSv1epRHU, please explain that to me is there two different marks that say 305degrees?
thank you ahead of a time

Pictures from my check
What is this gray stuff on sensors? Looks like metal dust
This is where the crankshaft aligns when circles in sensor hole are aligned
This one is slightly off but you can see it completely

Please help
I'm really surprised that no one responded yet.
Hopefully someone will come around and point me the right direction to go about fixing this car, I really don't want to part it out, it's too nice of the car to end its live like that.
I forgot to mention in my initial post that I got the series of codes from obd2,
P0016
P0366
P0017
P0391
P2187
P2189
P0106
P0715
Maybe combination of those codes has an answer for me.
Please any help,
Thank You

Timing on serpentine belt??
The chain need to be timed right, the serpintine belt runs yoy waterpump, alternator, and ac pump, and power steering pump!
Google those fault codes, and your car will be ok

Ha-Ha
Lol, I know that question about serpentine belt sounded dumb, but I wanted to know in case I'm missing something, it's just odd that right after serpentine belt things went bananas on the car.
Like I said I'm totally new to Mercedes scene, I owned and worked on Audis and VWs, but never worked on Mercedeses.
So what about the check I tried doing with the circles in a sensor holes, any comments on that?
thanks

Those mark has nothing to do with timing, is it sensorholes??
Where you mount the sensors?
The alligment marks are under the top lid, on the gears to the timing chain, and on the camshaft, and on the harmonicballanser!
Like i said, google them codes, and your cars will be god, you dont have timing error!
I dont know your engine, but on some engines, its possible to mount the serpentine belt wrong!
Get yourself epc&wis and everything will be easy, and just for saying, i am not any mercedes guru, this forum has superb members, who knows all about mercedes.
I guess, they did not answer because of question about serpentine timing!
About the debris you have on your sensors, many of them is magnetic, so small metal particles get stucked in them
Sorry my bad english
Please update yout error code findings
