New Paddle Shifters

Yes or no on the shifting paddles? I also got the silver paddles, same color as the original AMG paddle? Thought the OEM paddle shifters where a little too small for my liking.

I would say no; they seem like they are an add on in that color and maybe would interfere?

Yes, its a noticeable add on like the ones from Brabus that are like $800 ( don't quote me ) a set. They however don't interfere with anything and kinda like to look at it when at a light.

I picked up these Brabus paddles for $700.00. Definitely was a nice addition to my new wheel.

Sweet, did you find the longer paddles easier to handle than the OEM ones.

I understand that, but I don't understand how they make using the paddles any easier. If one is driving with their hands at 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock, the paddles are at one's fingertips. The paddle could extend upward to the windshield and not be any easier to use than that which came from the factory.

the point of extended shifter is that in the situations when you cant have the hands at 9-3-10-2 you still have access to the shifters. Mostly in track

I wholly disagree. The track is where you need those the least. If one's hands are anywhere other than the proper places, it's because one is in a very low-speed corner, and the downshift should have been completed prior to turn-in, and the upshift will occur at or after exit when the wheels are pointed (mostly) forward. They would make more sense if the paddles were attached to the column and not the wheel, but on the wheel, they're simply cosmetic.

If one drives the car with their hand at the 12 o'clock position while getting their lean on, I can see how the factory placement and length is less than ideal.

I get that they're a trinket and people want to differentiate their cars, but this one doesn't make sense from a practical perspective.
