G63 Winter Tires in NJ

So all my performance cars, I have a dedicated set of winters no questions.

My gwagon came with summer performance tires. I wouldn't mind getting some winter tires but I have not found any good rims for the Gwagon without looking too out of place.

So would you guys roll around with summer tires in the winter in such a big car or definitely no way? My reasoning is since it's a gwagon, it surely can't be horrible during winter time?

I have owned 5 Gs since 2010 and I live in NE Ohio and would never drive one without winter tires in the snow. The difference is dramatic

Soon: 2020 G63 Currently: 2016 GLE63 SUV + 97 F250HD, Before: 2013 G550, Range Rover Sport, 1984 CJ7
Related but un - I have a set of replica amg wheels in black (20") with blizzaks sitting in Vermont if you want them. Ill sell them for any fair offer. Paid $2200, willing to take a fraction. Limited miles on them since I only owned my G for a single winter sadly. (but im in a GLE63 now!)

Sorry for the delay. I frequent the GLE forum most these days. Here's a few

After last years winter the tires were unmounted and resting in my garage in Vermont. Used onee winter. Fancy a drive up to Vermont and get rid of them for me please. Asking just $150 a wheel (complete with tire mounted with TPMS) You likely need a set of $40 bolts for mounting (M14 x 1.50 pitch bolt around 1 inch long. (14 X 20 X 1.5 mm))

285 / 50 R20 blizzaks mounted on Black rims with Benz caps.

One season, few miles - depth is same as new.

Washed for storage

that is a good looking package. It's just soo far lol.

Tire rack doesn't sell the OEM winter tire size. What's a recommended winter size for the g63 stock wheels?

I used to see 18"s for winters and mudding. Small wheel, more rubber. I have really only seen people running 20"s with specific rubber over the last bunch of years.

G wagon with s winter specific rubber on 20" or below and you are unstoppable.

How you liking the GLE? I waited for MB to drop in a Headsup display but alas NONE in the SUV!

Anyways I was able to order a OE Mercedes Specs Pirelli Scorpion Winters at 275/50R20 from TireRack that i'll go pick up later.

They will work well. Enjoy.

I am loving the gle. It rides smooth and corners hard. For my drives back and fourth to VT, it is the perfect beast and still struggle to find a comparision. Sure the X5M but it is not as sturdy or snow worthy in my opinion. If I did not spend winter in VT i'd probably be in the M tho

Ernest - I really would like to but since I am hardly there and its rural I have no shipping options. If you decide to take a drive, you can have them for $100 a wheel tho!

If you're still offering these, I'd be interested in taking a drive. Let me know.

G63 - Summers

I just had my first experience in snow with my week old G63 - what a machine! I learned Winter Tires are a MUST and now I am in the process of looking for the winter wheels. I hear Pirelli Ice and Snow or Blizzaks are great. If someone can confirm that would be awesome! or recommend different ones (all season or winter only and brand) and should I put them on separate rims or replace the current ones? Much appreciated.

I recommend Blizzaks. Had them on my rover, g wagon and now a GLE63. Always get me to there even in the times I wish I wasnt driving in a storm.

I recommend the Blizzak DM-V2, I decided to try them this season and they have been exceptional so far.

I went with the Scorpion Winters this time. The DM-V2 sounds like a great tire, I just didn't want to size up.

I am going to try IceGuard IG51V.
It is only for a trip to Mammoth Lakes in California.

Was not comfortable putting chains on a G class, doesn't seem right... lol
