Airmatic threads stripped on strut

Airmatic threads stripped on strut
I have a 2003 E55. It appears the threads are stripped where the air line goes into the top of the front left strut. I am not sure if it is the male or female side that is stripped but i suspect it is the female side. Obviously if the screw won't stay in it makes driving pretty impossible.
If i hold the line in place, everything works like it should, so I know this is the only problem.
Seems like an easy fix, but i am guessing it won't be, nothing on this car is.
Any help or thoughts?
Thanks

I realize this is a very old thread, but I need this, the thread inside the top of the strut where the airline connects is stripped on my 2003 E500. What size did you need for this?

Thanks! Did it hold up? How long did you keep it with that set up? I ended up ordering a used strut to replace the one where this happened - but if this thing works, I’ll return it.

I eventually swapped out to coil overs, best decision ever.

I’m going to take a look and at switching them over. My mechanic said he can’t use the hellicoil because the hole where the bracket screw in is already too wide and will likely crack the top. I’ve read some reviews on the BC kit and seems like they are well rated and a fairly easy install. How did you bypass the airmatic error once installed?
