I think it turned out pretty good.

Just 35% to keep us straight with the law.

Agreed, looks clean! Still on the fence about debadging myself, mostly because I don't have a heat gun handy. Is that what you used to soften the glue? (If so, what temp. setting?)

I haven't personally tried it, but know people who have debadged with a hair dryer.

Looks great! Could you post more photos from the side and front? I'm trying to decide on the level of tint for when my car arrives.

Thanks, looks like that could work, although I would have thought the high temp of the average hair dryer (140 degrees) wouldn't be sufficient:

I was thinking of having the rear windows tinted but a friend pointed out that my side view mirrors' automatic dimming will probably stop functioning if I do this. Have you noticed this since getting yours tinted? I assume the automatic dimming sensor is on the rear view mirror... ?

The side mirrors' auto dimming still functions, I have tints all around.

I'm late to the game on this but several years ago I debadged my cousin's mustang with a hair dryer and waxed dental floss. It's fairly easy. Use a little paint-safe goo-gone to get the remnants of the adhesive off.

Looks good! You should try to cover up the chrome. I blacked out all the chrome on my black c300. Tinted at 35% all around and 65% on windshield. Debadged with no chrome looks great! I'll try and get a good pic sometime

Cool It's a German thing!

Or you can just ask your dealer or shop to do it. I had it done as part of the dealer prep for delivery. No problem. My wife and I go to Germany about once a year. There. at least 3/4s of the cars are debadged. Economy cars or luxury cars, it makes no difference. No one can explain why, even if it has been done on their own cars. It is just a custom. So I am used to seeing debadged cars. If you want to tell people that it makes your car look more German, you have my permission.

The body shop that did my tint removed them for me.I think they charged $30.
