TC Malfunction

Hello guys, I am new here just recently purchased a 2016 G63 Amg. Really love the car and I enjoy it so much.

Took it to the dealership today for check up and software update and got a call from the dealership saying that my car ESP control unit was faulty, I was so furious since the car has only 1500km on it. When driving the car, most of the light come up and the message says TC malfunction visit workshop and apply parking brake to park. The dealer want me to pay $2k for this and I have to wait for 6 weeks for the part to arrive, that's crazy. Could you guys please help me if it happened to your car. Thanks

This is a new car under warranty. They should give you a free loaner until the parts come in and the car is fixed. I'm surprised this wasn't offered to you as an option.

OK. "1500 km" in the US?? Then I'm guessing that he did not buy from an authorized MB dealer or take it to one for service. MB dealers don't take 6 weeks to get parts, no matter where the part may be located in the world.

Was it salvage titled or was it flooded? Obviously more information is needed before a good judgement can be made; and until he comes back with more information, we're just speculating.

here guys, no im not from the US. Im from Cambodia, and i did not get the car from the MB dealership. But never had a problem with cars i got from the place i usually buy from.

I did bring the Car to my local mechanic and he said that the MB dealership uploaded the wrong software update forcing the car to have no communication with abs and esp control unit. So i am letting them do their work, they will re-upload the software to the car and hopefully my car will be ok by tomorrow, finger crossed.
My mechanic also said that there is no problem with my abs/esp unit since the car is new and yet the MB dealership want me to order a new part that will cost me 2k plus and a wait time of 6 weeks, so furious with them.

No bro, the car was brand new when i got it. It was shipped straight from Germany, everything was in German when i first got it. And yes the Dealer did tell me that it will take 6 weeks to get the part, saying that it was from the factory.

update:

Got my car back yesterday after leaving it at my local shop for 4 days. Now everything is working fine, and i am so happy My shop reinstalled the update and now everything is perfect!! I will never take my car or ever go to the MB dealer in my country ever again, what a bunch of *******!!
