Leather Seats ~ Recommendations on Preventitive Care/Conditioning
My C43 has the basic leather seat upgrade / option
What are your recommendations for care?
With previous vehicles I've owned with leather interiors, I have never treated or conditioned the seats but I'm considering doing it in this car. Seems it took a lot of years before the creases/cracks started to appear
The car is brand new, so there are no pre-existing conditions that need to be addressed and no cleaning is needed
I would be interested in anything aesthetic as well as practical for future appearance
Please keep in mind that this is a 3 year lease so I'm not necessarily concerned with doing something today that will benefit me 10 years down the road as it is likely I'll be out of this vehicle in 3 years max

I've only had to periodically use leather cleaner on my car, I wouldn't go overboard with that stuff. As you said it is a three year lease...curious to see how blue jeans and pants show or not on the red interior...

For a lease, do very little. Clean with a damp rag and wipe dry. Automotive leather in modern cars is coated, so traditional leather cleaners and conditioners don't do much if anything. There are some cleaners/protectants specifically for new(ish) automotive leather you can use if you feel the need to, but this isn't necessary if you will only have the car for 3 years. I prefer one with some UV protection.
By the way, here is what the manual says:
To retain the natural appearance of the leather, observe the following cleaning
instructions:
Clean genuine leather covers carefully with a damp cloth and then wipe the covers
down with a dry cloth.
Make sure that the leather does not become soaked. It may otherwise become
rough and cracked.
Only use leather care agents that have been tested and approved by Mercedes-
Benz. You can obtain these from a qualified specialist workshop.

Thanks Guys I most likely will do nothing and just enjoy them
My concern more than something happening to the seats is something happening to my clothes and the clothes of my passenger
No faster way to ruin a date than she goes in the ladies room and someone points out she has red stripes across the back of her white dress LOL

If you have air conditioned leather seats (perforated), make sure not to leaves the holes clogged with cleaner or conditioner liquid. There are YT videos on how to properly clean perforated leather seats.

But seriously, my friend who owns a leather upholstery shop recommends just mild unscented soap suds with a damp cloth.

Cleaning the seat covers
General notes
! Do not use a microfiber cloth to clean covers
made out of real leather, artificial leather or
DINAMICA. If used often, these can damage
the cover.
Note that regular care is essential to ensure that
the appearance and comfort of the covers is
retained over time.
Genuine leather seat covers
! To retain the natural appearance of the
leather, observe the following cleaning
instructions:
-Clean genuine leather covers carefully with
a damp cloth and then wipe the covers
down with a dry cloth.
-Make sure that the leather does not
become soaked. It may otherwise become
rough and cracked.
-Only use leather care agents that have
been tested and approved by MercedesBenz.
You can obtain these from a qualified
specialist workshop.
Leather is a natural product.
It exhibits natural surface characteristics, for
example:
-differences in the texture
-marks caused by growth and injury
-slight nuances of color
These are characteristics of leather and not
material defects.
Seat covers of other materials
! Observe the following when cleaning:
-clean artificial leather covers with a cloth
moistened with a solution containing 1%
detergent (e.g. dish washing liquid).
-clean cloth covers with a microfiber cloth
moistened with a solution containing 1%
detergent (e.g. dish washing liquid). Rub
carefully and always wipe entire seat sections
to avoid leaving visible lines. Leave
the seat to dry afterwards. Cleaning results
depend on the type of dirt and how long it
has been there.
-clean DINAMICA covers with a damp cloth.
Make sure that you wipe entire seat sections
to avoid leaving visible lines.

I use the AMMO leather cleaner/conditioner set. I had great results with it on my Cayenne too.
Sorry for the dark pictures, I generally due the cleaning at night so I can leave the conditioner to settle over night.
1st picture - you can see how the dye from my jeans has gotten the leather dirty
2nd picture - after a quick cleaning with the AMMO leather cleaner
3rd picture - all done, leather cleaned and conditioner applied

I can't imagine how the seats would look if it was white leather. My Cayenne had black leather so you couldn't really see the dirt/jeans dye, but I was always blown away by how dirty the towels got when cleaning the leather.

Wow that's a big difference. My cranberry seats are getting dirty. Did you order the Ammo online?
Any other products that would produce similar results?

I'm sure there are other products and the AMMO stuff is pretty pricey but I'm happy with it.

Which cleaning 'option' did you have to use to clean your seats. Did you need a buffer? Or just a pad and bristle brush.
Pricey stuff, but it works! I'm in Canada, so even more expensive. Trying to find something that's easier and ideally cheaper for me to source.
