Interesting.
I have seen the steering wheel a year ago but it looked pre-production on the controls, which is still does look like on these pics as well. Hope there is a better looking finish coming as well.
There also appears to be two comand controllers in the offering (since this shows the old touchpad-wheel combo).
The S560 was mentioned here before and I still can't see the wisdom in resurrecting old model designations (450, 560, etc.). The 560 never represented the pinnacle of the S-Class models. That car (W126) was also seriously underpowered car.

Do we think that new front bumper treatment is a regular or sport?

I find the triple eyebrows a bit jarring after the simple visual elegance of single...hope it grows on me. Also will miss the current 550 steering wheel for non-AMG tri-spoke models...kinda nice to drape your hand on the bottom rim while cruising a highway on distronic version whatever...until we won't need to...maybe in the redesigned 2020.

I prefer the current steering wheel as well. I almost always prefer elegance to sportiness, especially in a luxury sedan.

I6 M256 engine
There should be more than 2 different output level from this new in line 6 M256 engine that is being offered first in the s class FL.
The current pre FL v6 S class is offered in 3 different output level. S320 produces 268hp while s400 produces 333hp. However the same v6 produces 367 hp in the s400 coupe.
The M256 engine will power the E50amg coupeand CLS50 amg. Both of which won't receive the full blown 63 amg engine. The current output figure is rumored to be close to 500hp. The M256 will be a visit which makes 408hp in the non amg form. This could be for the s450/s460/s470(whatever they call it) and also a lower output level which is not known yet

Of course by today's standards all older models have seemingly lower power output. It was definitely a fast car in its day...

While one can argue about designs, the W140 was clearly a higher-end, better built car by any measure.
Going back to 1972, the pinnacle of the S-Class (range) is the current W222.
