Shopping for a set of Slicks and wheels

Hi,

Currently running R888s but at 700whp+, it feels like I'm running on soap. I'm losing traction at 80mph+. 1st and 2nd gear are non-existant.

I'd like to take my car to the strip very soon and get a proper run so I'll be needing a good set of slicks.

It's my first time looking into this so excuse my ignorance. Does anyone know which 18' would fit my car? Will it clear the brakes?

Thanks

I don't think 18s are going to clear the rear brake caliper. They are so far out there there is almost no clearance with my 19s.
I am actually keeping my vorstiener VFF103 with the r888 around for track use once my new wheels arrive. You can get a rear set for under 1k and they are fairly lightweight I believe just over 20 lbs for a 19x 9.5
Just be careful with slick and hat much HP. You may blow out your diff. I know someone has done it already with stage 2 and sticky tires

Thanks man!

However 2 things:

1. I already have R888s and they're not really helping much.

2. I already blew my electronic diff once. If it breaks again, I will be switching to a mechanical diff.

Oh I was not suggesting R888 was just saying my current setup. they hook much better then the stock dunkops but leave a lot to be desired even with stage one.
Ok I think hah came up. I know that happens to a guy around here also. Def a weak point once you get to the higher power levels.

Thanks guys. My 2nd tranny just gave up on me last night (2nd time in less than 10 days)...

I wanted to order something straight off tire rack but I guess that's not going to be possible.

I'm now waiting to get a proper bulletproof tranny built by Dime then I'll take the car to a tire shop and have them figure this out.

I don't think he's worried about the front for drag racing.

I have a custom set from CCWs on order 18x11 and will then be running a 315 Hoosier DOT Radial. This is for the coupe so I would imagine you would need to go a little narrower for your sedan.

Oh I really, really want to hear how this goes. Your setup should fit my vert.
