From a 2017 E sedan to coupe

It was a rough road. After 3.5 months, Mercedes offered me a 'trade assist' for my 2017 E300 sedan. Really bad juju with the sedan so I decided to go coupe.

Love the tight ride. Love the handling. Love not having run flat tires. The ventilated seats actually work nicely. Sadly, no flac support but maybe there's an update that is needed.

The sedan had run flats. The coupe doesn't. I prefer the ride of regular tires with a spare in the trunk.

"Sadly, no flac support..." Are you talking about the audio coding format? How much better is flac than what you have now on your new coupe?

I use a USB stick to play music in my car. Funny, the people at the dealership say no one else does. They all use Bluetooth (which I hear isn't very good quality wise).

My entire collection comes from my original CDs ripped to flac. It's open source, lossless and tag-able. There is no loss of quality from .wav. All I have to do drag and drop from my computer. The new car doesn't recognize the files. The loaner base model 2017 E sedan did. My old 2014 E sedan did. To get mp3 I must transcode whatever I put on the USB stick. Not a deal breaker, but time consuming.

Beautiful car! You are ahead of the game with the coupe. The sedans are nice but the E Coupe is so much more special.

dBpoweramp will batch convert format a to format b in one operation. Easy peasy.

And mine. Using the batch converter to transcode many files from .flac to mp3 is as easy as it gets. I have many thousands of .wav files in my home system, so when I bought my car I just launched the batch converter, selected the .wav files I wanted to load onto the SD for the car (in mp3 LAME), and hit enter. Works great!

I'd be interested in knowing what your problems were with the 4 door, but you're probably prohibited from sharing. After years of being divorced from their marriage with Chrysler, I thought quality build issues were a thing of the past ... one of the major obstacles which will be keeping me from pulling the trigger on the new E50 when introduced.

2017 E400 Coupe
My 2014 E (and my 2017 E, what little time I actually was able to drive it) acted slightly different than this coupe. The coupe has Premium Package 2 and Sport Package. There are things like: no automatic trunk open or close (that they don't put in E coupes and never have, so my salesman said), ...

So, I have a couple of questions:

Blind spot assist - can you activate the car to 'beep' when you are about to change lanes and there is a car in the way? The light on the rear view mirror goes red, but can you get a sound notification?

When pulling forward into the garage - is there no sensor to tell you how close you are?

What does lane keeping assist do - my 2014 E steering wheel would vibrate if I veered a bit too much.

Audio? Can your car play a .flac file? Can't remember if my old E could (I don't think so), my new car couldn't either, but my loaner 2017 E could (and so could other peoples new E300).
