W211 2003 kompressor pano roof
I just bought this car
it has some issues with the roof
the fabric loosening (i know its common)
the rear shade works with a slight little help from me pushing it other wise it just stops in the way or makes the machine gun sound the front shade is open and does not close i push the button n nothing happens even tried giving it a helping hand but it refuses to move
the third thing is the roof opens and i was okay with it until i recently saw another pano roof car and noticed that theres this smaller piece of glass the front most front part of the pano roof that tilts up when you open the sun roof and i tried mine and it doesn't lift up so im really annoyed now im gonna get my roof fabric changed soon but i need information on the rest as what needs to be replaced or is it just a minor issue like some gear is discontinued or is it a bad motor or so cause if im short on information the dealers gonna give me a burning paycheck and to avoid that im tryna figure out whats wrong so i can get it replaced cost effectively.

You are probably better off getting it shut and never opening it again. I had the loud noise issue, replaced the motor then it broke again 3 years later.

lol there's no point paying extra for a pano roof car and then shutting it close
and besides 3 years is alot i would throw my money away at some1 who guaranteese that it will work for 3 years

What year was the other car? Mine is a 2008 and does tip up too, but maybe the early ones didn't. Not sure if it's broken or just something they did later. There were always changes made on the cars from year to year and when the car got a facelift in 2007, lots of things changed. There are a lot of threads on here about fixing the pano roof though, even a diy on how to replace the motor yourself.

looks like we'll just have to wait for some member with a prefacelift 1 to pop up n tell us
and diy is not the deal as i cant diy the new fabric myself and won't risk dripping glue on my seats lol
i just need all the information i can before i go to the stealer as ik that they'll probably hand me a bill saying that they changed everything .

Panos in 2003 were total crap. I would just keep the money for other vital repairs. Don't think you'll find anyone to warrantee the work for 3 years.

the car doesn't need any vital repairs its good as new only 100k km driven and pano roof is the only issue i choose to buy it over an 07 cause ill show you what i saw in it. And ill just get the roof done idc if it works for a year or 2 but if its on my car it has to work. Im just here for ideas as what needs to be fixed.

Then what you will need is the sunroof motor. Yours has failed causing that loud noise.

What country are you in anyway? It doesn't sound like you're in the US. That car seems pretty loaded for a 2003, having pano, parktronic is pretty rare. Only reason I don't like the older model is due to the SBC brakes which with just 100km on the car is probably going to go at some point. The 2007 models got rid of SBC and bluetooth was better and it also had the interior face lift. We never had the Kompressor in the US, just the 320/500 or the 350/550 on the W211.

and a vip license plate number thats why i bought a 2003 though i was lookin for the facelifted ones
and the sbc has been taken care of previous owner told me it was recalled.

I think in 2007 they started to have active curve illumination with the bi-xenon headlamps. The earlier models just had bixenons with the headlamp washers. Plus for the US, they had the 3.5L engine instead of the 3.2L in the 2003-2006. I think radiators were also bad in 2003, leaked and ruined the transmission, but at this stage maybe yours already got replaced. What size engine is the Kompressor? Memory seats and two sun visors were standard for the US models. I think keyless go is better too in later years, newer key fob and there's no card.

i have the active bi xenons aswell
and the car has no mechanical issue as i stated its brand new and everything inside the hood is still in its best condition
however the panoroof issue is cause of the hot weather we get 45°C summers and thats ****in hot
and yeah the cars a 1.8L E200 i wanted more but couldn't find 1 we normally have this engine size in our country as petrol is expensive lol

Oh yeah, I guess that qualifies, although it never said Kompressor on the back, it just had an AMG badge.

Yeah i so wanna have an E55 amg but there ain't even a single one in my country lol
we got the best fuel savers in the globe lol
