18 inch Wheels for Off Road AMG G63

Hey guys, anyone know if an 18 inch wheel would fit a G63? by the looks of it, it seems like it would not. I am trying to get a more aggressive tire for off road and it's hard to find a decent off road tire in a 20inch rim.

Thanks!

Hello -

The 19 Inch OEM G550 Wheel will fit the G63 (it is the spare that is on the rear door).

If you want 18 Inch, there are a few out there, but just make sure it covers the caliper.

On our G63, we had Goodyear Wrangler MT/S with Kevlar, which we had to get Wheel Spacers/Spring Spacers to make it fit.

Thanks man! Thats a dope setup!

I can't get a straight answer from the dealer if the 18 inch wheel would fit. I don't know why a 40 year old vehicle that costs 150k and the dealer doesn't know anything.

Anyway, thank you, i will check it out. Seems like a DIY project as always lol.

BTW is your MPG even worse now? I find the biggest problem with MPG is a problem when venturing out extremely far with only 1 or 2 Jerry can's can be a problem on getting back especially if you get stuck.

Lol, that is because most dealers are completely useless. The big concern is if they clear the brakes.

Not sure what the gas mileage was when the tires were put on, however even with the stock set-up, it was around 12 maybe.

The 6x6 got 4.7 MPG last year at Bonneville, lol.

looks like 19' is as small as the callipers will allow.
The full size spare is a 19". I assumed it was 18" and now i have 4 G550 18" wheels that will not work for me.

I will be trading my G63 in on a 2019 model so not a big deal i suppose...

for me the jury is still out on the 2019 ... it's got independent suspension ... the interior looks AMAZING though only took 40 years .. but i take my g off road its way better there lol

plus i got mine all tuned and was planning on keeping it for a long time... if you get the 19 post up a review it would be dope to see how much better it is ... i might go take a test drive when it's out.

thanks for the reply!

I just took possession of a 2016 G550 with 19" AMG stock wheels and am looking for 18" wheels if anyone has any ideas, my dealer was looking for an OEM 18" for me but has not gotten back to me. Looking for 5.

Happy Wheeling
