Hi C63 AMG fans!

in this thread I will introduce you my c63 amg tracktool. Maybe for one or another it is interesting to see what is necessary to make a c63 reliable and fast on the circuit.
I think I will start of with my modlist and I will post a few pictures. If you are interested in detailpictures or want to know more about a specific modification just let me know and I will post more pics and explanation.

Chassis: welded Cage, carbonfibre roof, hood, doors, trunk, Downforce Setup with Bigwing and Frontsplitter and Streetsetup with little splitter and gurney/rear diffusor
Suspension: KW Competition 3way upsidedown, Uniball bushes, camber front 4,4° rear 3,7°
Brakes: Front SLS GT3 Brake Brembo Racing 380/36 Disc PFC01 Pads / Rear Original with Pagid RSL1 Pads / Castrol SRF Fluid and flexlining / brakecooling through ducts and panels
Wheels: Motec DTM 10x18 offset 50/55 with 265/35 trofeo R semis or 24/64 Michelin S8L Slicks
Engine: filters, modded airbox, softwaretuning, 15-50 motul 300v comp oil
Exhaust: 200 cell HJS sportcats + akrapovic racing evolution titanium exhaust
Interior: Recaro SPG/PP seats with Sabelt 6 Point Harness, Manual Handbrake, Manual Windowlifters
Weight: Original car 1910kg 1/2 tank, Current 1540 1/2 tank

Couple questions?

Where did you find the biggest weight savings? My car needs to go on a diet because it's rapidly eating consumables.

Did you fit an 18x10 wheel on the front?

And tell me about the "uniball bushes"? I'm using KMAC suspension bushings now, but feel like they may not be very durable.

Weight savings:

biggest weight savings:

1) remove full interior and electricity which is not needed
2) install bucket seets instead of the full adjustable OEM leather seats
3) remove sunroof
4) install carbonfibre doors
5) titanium exhaust system
6) lightweight battery
7) go for 18" rims --> much better acceleration

uniball bushes and solid alu subframe bushings which have been customized for my car. I couldnt find any after market product so I had to let them built by a local shop that could drill aluminum.

Where did you get the Carbon roof?

My car still is streetlegal and in Germany it's necessary to run cats. At least 200cell metallic and even this is a big problem nowaydays because regulations get worse. I still have to run silencers because most of our tracks do have a DB limitation

The carbon/GFK parts have been made by a local shop that used the OEM parts as a template.

Hello Kosmos,

lightweight doors/ roof/ trunk and hood have been made by someone who customizes carparts with fibreglass plastics. A template have to be made from the originalpart and then you can start building it in fibreglass. It takes time to do it so you better do stuff like that during the winter time (offseason). Fibreglass is cheaper and as light as CFK.

Any spec and weight info on the wheels?

yes these are Motec Race GT MCGT wheels. I've 9x18 ET50 for the Front and 10x18 ET55 for the rear on my street setup and I use the 10x18 ET55 on front axle and rear axle when I hit the track. I've 6 sets of those wheels. I think that you have to take at least 4 sets to have them made with your customized offset. weight is 9kg for the 9x18 and I think 9,8kg for the 10x18.

OP, in Germany, the C63 had a no sunroof option too, no? so you are able to replace all panels with the no sunroof panels?


Also, how long have you run the 15W50 and do you have a cold start-up video?

Hi, no there were no non sunroof option available in Germany. I think they just closed the openspace of the missing sunroof by welding in some metal sheets.

I am running the Oil since 60.000km and I dont have a coldstart up video at the moment but if you want I can make one. Do you want me to film the engine or the exhaust?
