2006 c230 issues. please help
I got a few crazy things going on with my car and I think they all may be related and was wondering if anyone has any ideas before I take it to the stealership to pay for a bunch of stuff i don't need just to get what I do need.
First when the car first starts in the morning there is a loud squeal that shuts off after about 2 mins. when it turns off it sounds like a motor shutting down and then the car sounds fine. (Alternator maybe?)
Next when I have the A/C on on a hot day acceleration is so slow to almost non existent.
My ambient air temperature sensor will go crazy and read +185 or -75. It goes back and forth. I have replaced the sensor and it fastened into its spot very snugly. When the temp goes back to right, the check engine light will shut off after 3 starts of the temp gauge working.
If its just a normal day, not to extreme in temps and im not using the A/C the car will run just fine. Get up is great, temp sensor stays working. I still get the Squeal in the morning but after that, it sounds fine through out the day.
I did replace the MAF sensor.
As i write this it got me thinking that some belt needs to be replaced or something. If it was you guys, what would be your first step to get this fixed. The only CE code thrown is the ambient air temperature sensor.

squeal
If this is a M272 V6 try this. Get a length of heater hose to use as a hearing aid. Have someone start the engine while you listen. Listen at the A/C compressor. Possible clutch issue. Also, these engines are noted for aux air pump bearing failures. It's the round black component at the top front center of the engine. These can be removed, disassembled, and oiled. The air pump only runs for about two minutes after cold start-up to heat up the cats. If the A/C clutch is bad it will squeal every time it cycles on.
Also have a 2006 V6 and that's all the squeal issues I can think of.
Good luck, Dave

Maybe you could help me with a wire connector location.
I recently removed my engine to replace my balance shaft.
Upon hooking up all the wire connections, I found one I can't figure out.
It's two wires in a black sheath that is attached to the drivers side front cam cover. Ine wire is long, and the other half as long. The long one attaches to the A/C compressor. The short one I can't figure out. There is nothing for it to attach to between the compressor and where it's anchored to the cam cover. The only components nearby are the power steering pump/reservoir and the engine oil cooler. Can't find any connections on them.
Thanks for any help, Dave.
