This can"t be good
After some research about the 722.6 transmission I decided to change the AT Adapter Plug (13 pin connector) in my 98 ml320. I watched several videos of plugs getting changed, read several write-ups on the simple procedure. 1. Car supported on jack stands. 2. Wiring plug detached and pulled out. 3. 7mm bolt in center of AT Plug loosened. 4. Pull on plug to remove. Pull harder. Pull again---gee, those mechanics on YouTube just tugged them right out easily. 5. Re-loosen center screw. 6. Ratchet for 60 minutes. 7. Borrow camera scope and look inside old plug to find 8/13 pins bent by fumble fingered home mechanic who missed the center bolt on the first try and mangled them so they hold the old plug firmly in place. 8. Use long, thin screwdriver to attempt to straighten bent pins. 9. Successfully straighten 7, then begin to swear after snapping off the last pin. ONE OF THE PINS HAVE SNAPPED OFF!!
Any suggestions on my next step? I'm done in at the moment

Mea Culpa. In most of the other forums which I have been a part of, people share such things in the manner of participating in a community of people interested in some similar thing. My sincere apologies for wasting your time, and thanks for your help.
