2011 E63 AMG - After Market Mufflers Options
I need to replace the mufflers on the car I recently purchased and I am not interested in getting an entire exhaust or cat back system at the moment.
Who makes traditional mufflers for a 2011 E63 AMG? None of the major exhaust companies list an application on their website.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Let me ask this... It appears the mufflers are dual in and dual out. What is diameter of the inlet and outlet exhaust pipes? Might be easier to find a muffler with this info.

Stopped by a few muffler shops and it looks like just getting some mufflers is going to be difficult.
I have bought quality exhaust systems for a lot of vehicles over the years and never seen systems this expensive! Other than the fact they will be going on a Mercedes, is there any quality differences that warrants 2 to 3 times the price?
Also... I can get a new stock catback system for less than any of the aftermarket systems. I don't want the exhaust to be all out all the time. Just want some rumble when I get on it. Is the stock exhaust going to do this?

I have 2013 M157 with stock exhaust and resonators removed and I really really love it. quiet when you want it to be, and then a riot when you want it to be. I don't have experience with the 6.3(2) liter but assume it is a bit louder in stock form than the 5.5

No. The previous owner had some Flowmaster Delta Series installed and they are LOUD and look hideous! Makes the interior vibrate at lower RPMs.
They actually cut the stock pipe just past the rear differential and went to a smaller diameter pipe before the mufflers. So there is also a restriction.
Looking for luxury when I am cruising and sport when I get on it.

i had a turboback MHP exhaust on my cls63 (5k retail), and anything like that will run you a LOT more than just grabbing C63 mufflers that were on the same engine (m156).

Or, get the stock exhaust. Going to be more money then cobbling a system together, but you get a quality part and noise as MB intended. You should probably find a stock m156 to listen to before you do anything, make sure that noise is your end goal. I know there are videos posted on here/youtube, but nothing like hearing in person. Just my .02

Thanks for the replies. I think picking up a used set of stock mufflers is a good idea.
Do the M156 and M157 use the same mufflers or will the M157 (2014) fit on a M156 (2011)?

2012+ mufflers part #: 212-490-74-35
M157 are also slightly more expensive.

Does this mean they are interchangable? Same hanger locations? I can put the M157 mufflers on M156?

I purchased magnaflow straight through mufflers. They have 2.75 universal single inlet dual outlets . Very easy to be done by an exhaust shop. Infact I have a single outlet because single have a more deeper stronger tone. Remember your stock dual tips tuck inside the stock exhaust tips on the bumper which is a single. The dual tips sit inside of them so it doesn’t matter dual or single it just matters what sound you want

This is getting more difficult. I picked up some stock mufflers from a M157 (2014 E63s AMG) Thought they would be the same as the M156 (2011 E63 AMG). Two different muffler shops said the mufflers and tips are not compatible.
Are the tips different on the 2011 and the 2014?
Below is what I am working with. (car is dirty) You can see why I am asking so many questions and trying to get these Flowmasters replaced. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Damn I thought you had a w212 facelift. Ugh no they are a bit different. But a good exhaust shop should be able to get that to work

The same way the exhaust shop that added pipe to make that nasty box work . This exhaust shop should be able to get the m157 mufflers to work. It seems they should be easier to install then what the other shop used

I did ask if there was a way to make it work and they both said no.

I was able to sell the 2014 AMG exhaust. Back to square one.
Can anyone tell me what the inlet and outlet sizes are on a 2011 E63 muffler?

Still haven't found anyone in DFW that can install a muffler that is not as loud as the mufflers currently on the car. I did however, get the inlet and outlet sizes.
Single Inlet = 2.9''
Dual Outlet = 1.7''

Dual Outlet = 1.7''
