How do you find used S-class with the options you want?
I've pretty well figured out the options I'd like and am trying to decide between buying new and around a 3 year old S-class configured with the options I'd like. When I go on mbusa.com and try to find it that way it only lets you search by year, exterior color, and 1 interior color. I looked at some of my local dealerships and they don't let you search for only ones with the options you want or even show you the options quickly. Instead I have to click on each one and read through a huge paragraph listing things like 4 doors, AC, cruise control, etc to find out the options on the car. So far I haven't seen any that have the executive rear seat package plus, which is something I really wanted.
If I buy new I'm almost thinking I may have to custom order the car since I don't know how many will be configured with the options I want.

It will also be difficult finding a new 18 but again look at the largest US dealers and you might get lucky finding one in inventory.

I am way over my pay grade here. Just trying to help. Listingallcars might help you. A little cumbersome. They have a key word search. So you start with minimal info, but at the bottom you have a key word search. I found this car. The narrative says it has an Executive Package. Don't know if that is exactly what you are looking for. Good luck.

Sometimes you have to settle for something close. I found a 2015 and it had everything I wanted except the surround view camera. I bought the car and it's working out great, but like Mick Jagaer says, "you can't always get what you want" But if you try sometimes you get what you need. lol

Having a car configured the way you want it is the best way to go, especially at a price of over 100K.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
To me these cars coming off a 30 month lease is the only way to fly. My car had a sticker of $110K and I got the car for $60K with 31K miles and mint condition, except just a small ding on the drivers door, hardly noticeable, the certified warrantee is really good. I'd just call around a few of your local dealers and see what they have to offer in around a 2015/16, even if they don't have what you want they may come across one and give you a call. In the meantime might want to check this car out, it's in Florida. To get what you want you may have to travel some. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2015-Mercede...xZ26Mf&vxp=mtr

Mostly it takes searching..thats a rare option that will prb not add much to resale. I looked on and off for 2 years to find my w221..white/blk/amg/panaroof and cpo'd.... now looking for a w222 pretty much same options...still tuff as prices for same car are all over the place!

2020 S560 Sedan, 2019 SL450, 2019 E450 Luxury Trim Wagon, '24 BMW I7 on order...
What makes matters so much worse, is the way some dealers market their CPO & used cars. So many of them will list a W222 as having bucket seats, leather interior, automatic transmission, power steering, Panorama Roof, 4-wheel disc brakes, aluminum wheels.........you get the picture. Or, they will list the options in with the boilerplate of every single feature every W222 has, making it very difficult to sort through the mess. So many times, when I am searching online ads, I want to reach out into cyberspace and strangle these idiots.

When ive searched for Bmws in the past there was a Vin decoder site, Id just copy the vin and get the options that way. I tried a few for benz but seems to just list the generic stuff.

Yep, that drove me nuts when I was looking for my car. All they need to do is list the individual options under the base of the wagon whats on the sticker. Most don't do this and ultimately you end up having to call a salesman who does not know and needs to get back to you.
Its part of their marketing/sales strategy.

It does take time to find out what options are exactly are on each S class but if you look well enough you can find the one you want. I found a 2015 S550 4Matic with 7k miles for $71k with AMG sport package, Premium 1, Rear seat package, Surround View Camera, Distronic Plus, Night Vision, Exclusive Trim, OEM Trunk spoiler. Only things missing was warmth and comfort, rear executive seat package, and HUD. Don't really need those items but sometimes wish I had the HUD.

Yeah the night vision is pretty cool. There are some roads where we live that are just pitch black and the car recognizes that and just turns it on automatically. Great feature to have when its completely dark and vision is poor.

I use autotrader, set email alerts. CPO Dealer Only, Photos Only, any location (cars can be shipped for under a grand just about anywhere) Pick your color.... Then, when you get an alert, just jump to the photos. Immediately you can notice if it has the sport package, then the interior photos will show types of seating, look how many buttons are to the left of the steering wheel, typically a loaded car will have 4 to 5 switches, the 5th being HUD. Its actually a very quick process to look at the photos, and weed out the over priced, under optioned cars out there..

You have to put in your homework. Until you put in at least 100 hours, you have nothing to complain about.

I bet it's because many w221 V12's with a white exterior DIDN'T HAVE A BEIGE INTERIOR, due to it being a v12 and Mercedes made more with black interior for the AMG. It still boggles my mind how rare it is to find a S550 white exterior with black interior, for a w221, as well as newer ws222, but AMG's are more common to find black interiors with white exterior.... I wonder why Mercedes does this.

You have to use a VIN decoder. You just have to figure out the option code that you're looking for and see if it's on the list. Here's a couple, the first one is the best, but if you use it too often, it cuts you off so I use the second one to run a bunch of vin numbers.
https://www.vindecoderz.com/EN/Mercedes-Benz
http://www.neoriginal.ru/cat/mb
There's also MB"s EPC-net. Might be worth it as some newer VIN's aren't in the database. Costs $75 a year though, used to be free. It's also used to figure out what parts go with the car. It's really slow to use though. You could also try the $10 knock offs on eBay, those come with WIS (lets you look up repair procedures) and EPC but it's going to be an older database not a live up to date one like the online one, but they may only be about a year old so 3 year old uses ones should be in there.
