GLC43 resonator delete results
I usually like a louder car than this. Does the resonator delete make it 10,20,50% louder? And more importantly....how bad is the drone in the car after it is removed! Thanks

It's loud no drone what's so ever. Especially now that the weather is colder, when I start the truck it's sounds bad a$$ and up-shifts (farts/backfires) are super loud. Now that I finally got the Mercedes ME app working properly on my both my phones, I will start the car from the app and record from one of my phones at a distance. Maybe tonight I can give you guys a video of the snaps and pops from the resonator delete from inside the truck and windows down. I don't have a GoPro so I need to see which one of my phones take a better Audio/Video: Note8 or Iphone 7Plus

been busy, the og shop told me it was a cat so they backed out. Got it done today, it is a 100% a resonator. Instead fully chopping off the resonator, we gutted the insides of it and put the piping inside for a stock look. The upshifts and farts are way more aggressive, pops on downshifts are louder as well. No drone whatsoever. Ill try to get vids up tomorrow if weather is nice.

I believe the C43 exhaust is different in terms of muffler setup, however @justinspargo on instagram has a clip of the resonator delete on his page. I would record a video but do not have a gopro or anything close to get proper sound.

Will this mess with your ability to pass inspection or is this resonator simply to muffle the exhaust note ??? In MA I ain't passing with no CAT's for instance.

I just recently got my '18 GLC 63 and did a resonator delete, and it sounds incredible. I didn't have the perf. exhaust prior, so I was seriously jealous of all the other great sounding AMG's, now mine sounds even better. There is barely a drone, and the engine sounds great, and it will still pass emissions!
Getting it tuned by Labworx in the next few weeks to get it up to 620whp and a burble tune, can't wait.

I have the regular exhaust and did the resonator delete. I bought my truck in April 2017 and the PE exhaust was not out at the time. With the resonator delete, there's no drone what so ever. You can change how the exhaust sounds by switching modes between Comfort and Sport+. In comfort mode its still quiet but you can tell the exhaust has been modified. In Sport+ it's nice and loud. I would say just a tad bit louder than PE equipped GLCs. I completely forgot that I have some videos up on a youtube channel if you want to hear it. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCB..._as=subscriber
I now have Mike's Customs Catless Downpipes that I sent off to get Ceramic Coating by Jet-hot.com. Once I get them back in about a week or so, I will install them and post some more videos.

If I had a PE equipped GLC, I would still do resonator delete. I have done resonator delete with almost every car I had owned.

Watched/Listened to the videos and when you get on it its pretty loud. Sounds good though. How labor intensive is deleting the resonators?
Is it just taking out the material inside the resonator and/or does it involve cutting and welding back together?

How does the ASR change the sound of the exhaust ?? Thought it simply opened the valves (i.e. Sport + sound all the time) but didn't know it actually changed the PE sound at all. Maybe I am thinking of something else.

I just got my GLC63 with AMG PE exhaust and the first thing I did after getting home was crawl under the car looking for the resonator. I don't see anything resembling a resonator at all.. there is an h-pipe connection before the muffler but that's it. Does one simply not exist on this car? With my E63 I first went resonator to X-pipe, with no noticeable increase in volume, and only after I went X-pipe to straight did I see a huge increase. I don't think the same strategy applies here since even if I sever that H-pipe connection the muffler appears to be one big complex chamber, with all the valve mechanics inside. I have ordered the ASR system and will see what the does. My preference is usually for exhausts that wake the dead but I don't see that happening here without a full custom, which I'm not willing to do. Guess I may have to settle for just disturbing the dead...

"The standard exhaust has a valve further up near the subframe functioning as an "H" pipe. In comfort this is open, allowing exhaust gasses to flow between the dual pipes. In sport/+ and WOT this closes allowing straight through "dual" exhaust to flow through the system"
Of course that's talking about the 43 standard exhaust and not the 63 PE, but the description of that particular part seems to be the same. This seems to imply that if I cut the rear H-pipe too I'd get an additional volume increase, but perhaps I'd confuse and destabilize the actual PE muffler with its complex internals. Maybe best to leave well enough alone.
UPDATE:
In addition to the TWO h-pipes, there is a x-pipe between them. Didn't notice it before since the curves were somewhat subtle but it's there and definitely not a resonator. This is definitely a crazy Frankenstein of an exhaust.

Seen this post and thought I would share actual pictures of the GLC 43 exhaust without the performance exhaust. This is the stock system before I did the catless downpipes. No valves, and no X or H pipe set up. You get valves with the PE exhaust at the rear only on the 43.
Also, you guys are asking about sound after resonator delete? I can't help you there, as I did not do anything other than the downpipes but it is pretty loud. Much louder than I thought, and honestly, it sounds perfect at idle and WOT. I do have a video of it starting up with sound I will try to share. When it's started in the garage, it actually vibrates stuff throughout the house, and anytime I leave before the family in the morning, they get woke up. Last car I had that did that was my Supra, so I'm a bit impressed.
