transition to c43 from c63?

DId a lot or research on the c43 vs c63/s and decided on the 4matic v6 version based on many factors. I just like this car better. How many out there with c63's think they will transition eventually to the c43 and give your reasons.

Not true. I will give you two huge reasons. 9 speed and 4matic. I am a owner of both.

Eh, I think you'll find C43 owners upgrading to a C63S and not vice versa. You'll be hard pressed to find any C63S owners who are downgrading to a C43. If anything they'll be moving up to an AMG GTS, E63S, etc. Personally, I'm drooling over the 991.2 GT3... that will probably be my next move in a few years after I get tired of the C63S Coupe.

I would love AWD and I’m sure you could tune a C43 to do some fast 0-100 times - probably faster than 63. But for me the V8 has so much drama and character. Whether you’re doing 15 or 150, the 63 always puts a grin on my face. The C43 wouldn’t do it for me. If I wanted V6 and AWD I would probably get the new RS4

The c43 seemed more technologically advanced. 4 matic. v6 twin turbo faster 0_100 kph times with a tuner. I guess I am kinda tired of v8's. Just a preference. I would like to see a c63 with 4 matic.

What are you trying to prove here? Comparing a modded c43 to a stock c63s we have one vbox of a modded c43 doing 0-60 in 3.8 seconds. Thats the 0-60 of a stock c63s. Also when they are tuned they run low 12s and we have many c63s running low 12 to even mid 11s with just better tires at way higher mph 113 vs 123.

C63s absolute beast engine swap with 3.0 V6, even a modded one?

Ok - what about this wrongful equation am I missing?

C63S AMG
As bizarre as the OP sounds, it is understandable.

I have a 991.2 C4S, which is a step up from the C63S Coupe, but I prefer driving the AMG for my own reasons.

AWD is nice, especially if you live in NE and the 9sp A/T is a great new transmission.

But, I would argue, that the 63 is so much more than just V8 vs V6. Suspension, dynamic engine mounts, brakes, flared body, exhaust, e-lsd, as well as performance while keeping warranty (no tune needed).

Putting a good winter/all-season tire on the 63 is better than AWD in cold and snow. The power of the engine overcomes the 7 speed transmission shortcomings.

Dont downgrade. Just make the 63 useable in bad weather.

pardon me, I am not trolling. This is my first merc, and I have had a few other performance cars including 300z's zx's, z28 chevy, etc. This is my first hipo mercedes. I am trying to understand the options and have seen several informative responses in this thread. No insult intended to c63 owners. Just interested in other opinions. The 911 owners response was intuitive for me.
Just thought, I need to test drive a C63, lol.

I think the point missing here is that the C43 is not a “real” AMG. If you’re new to the brand, you would not have known that the C43 is literally just a name rebrand from the C450 (which was never branded as an AMG). It’a equivalent to BMW’s M-sport (ie; M340i, or Audi’s S line models (S3, S4, S5, etc.), so the C43 is not even in the same playing field as 63 AMG’s, Audi RS’s, BMW M3/M4, etc.

I’m not trying to take away from the C43, but it’s not a C63 with a different engine/trans and AWD. That’s like saying an M340i is an M3 with a different engine.

I was waiting for this response. Amg has a long track record of great cars. The C63S is one of them. The c43 is an after thought and marketing ploy by Mercedes. The c43 is still a good car and great for some people. However, as a car enthusiast, the c63 is what I wanted because of the true AMG experience.

Sure a nine speed transmission is cool but not needed by any stretch if the imagination. Awd is ok, but not needed by me

The c450 had a amg package. The motor was built by Mercedes and amg put some touches into the tuning. Similar to the s-line audi sells and the m-sport that bmw sells. For the c43 they essentially changed the transmission and called it an amg. Amg originated as a motor building company. For amg vehicles, they have designed and tested the motor and each motor is part of the one man one motor program. This is the way the m177 was built. Those are some of the reasons. It is an overly argued topic.

What he said. AMG devalued the brand when the slapped the badge on cars without hand built engines. It's not a C43. It's a C450.

I have a C63S and can’t imagine downgrading to a C43. I want an angry, growling V8 AMG, not a V6 with an AMG badge.

I can see where the 4 matic would appeal to some. Also, it has the beautiful C class interior and has a decent comfort/speed compromise for those not fully into the true AMG experience. I personally could not get a C43 if it was an "AMG" that I was after. Even the 4 cylinder AMG's are more true AMG's in terms of build and performance. Having owned 4 AMG's and waiting on the delivery of my fifth, I am disappointed in the marketing ploy by Mercedes to dilute the AMG badge. It is what it is. Just know that AMG enthusiasts, and car enthusiasts in general, know that the 43 cars are wannabe's. I say this because if your goal is to have a great car and the specialness of an AMG (or M or RS car), you'd never look at the "sport" models.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good troll and this one has certainly worked.

Listing '300z's zx's, z28 chevy', as performance cars is the funniest part, well played.
