This could be the one!!!
Alright fellas - I've been looking for months now and I think I might have found "the one". It appears to be a non-p30 car but I guess I can address the LSD later w/ an aftermarket unit. I'm in Raleigh NC so this is fairly close to me but still a 2.5 hr drive. Unfortunately not close enough to take the car to my indy MB mechanic for a PPI. The dealership welcomed a PPI at the local MB dealer so at least that's a good sign. What do you guys think about this car? I was told that it's on consignment from an individual so not sure the dealer has much wiggle room. I'd like to get it as cheap as possible so I can make sure it's in top shape, maintenance-wise. I really don't want to jump into a car that is a maintenance nightmare. I'm ok w/ the usual german car stuff, but as I said, I don't want a nightmare that I'm dumping money into keep it running rather than modding it.

Help me out guys! Let me know what you think!

It looks clean. That's high mileage but not a deal breaker. I would do a VIN check and also consider an OBDII scan while you are there.

Looks to be a very base model, yes clean C63 so if you can get it for $20k, I guess why not?
As as you said, you can always add an LSD (a must, imho) down the road as well as other carbon interior and exterior bits if you’re into it.

definitely would get an lsd and absolutely some interior cf trim. What options should i be looking for?
Vin check? As in the data card to see the options? As far as carfax goes, its had 4 owners and no issues. 74k miles seems low to me for the Year.

Is already time for your monthly almost bought a car thread? Maybe you should stop being such a tire kicker and try actually buying a car?

We are not your personally shoppers. You have caviar tastes with a tuna fish budget. No one knows what issues a five owner ten year old $20K C63 will or won't have. Go look at it and if you want it cut a check already.

Also, going by that Carfax, it looks like Owner #5 was the only one that gave a crap about it. That's the only time oil changes show up since the first owner and about 40k miles... I wouldn't do it unless you can work on these cars yourself or have a nice chunk of cash set aside for maintenance issues.

OP, at $20k, any AMG is going to be a shot in the dark. Just make sure you're prepared to spend a few grand should something go wrong.

I wouldn't really depend on carfax for maintainence records given that most maintenance isn't reflected there. I change my oil every 4K miles, but no one would ever know if they looked at my carfax...

Saw and test drove the car yesterday fellas....it was in rough shape. Steering was clunky as hell, exterior was pretty good except for the front bumper which had been clearly resprayed due to road rash...and it was done poorly. Lots of little cosmetic issues but they add up. Interior was decent but the back seat had a lot of scratches. Comfort entry button on the door didnt work. One of the seatbelts in the back didnt work. plus i would've been the 6th owner. Even at 20k, it just wasnt the car for me. I need an enthusiast owned car that's been loved and cared for and I'll pay the going rate for a good car which is around 25k
