Just bought a C63 edition 1 - Looking to do some upgrades
Hello from Arizona.
Just purchased a 2012 C63 AMG edition 1. 54,000 miles.
Absolutely love the vehicle. Long time BMW owner. Happy I made the switch!
Looking to do some upgrades.
Looking for some Vorsteiner wheels. Most likely just going to put some H&R Springs on it.
Would be nice to find an intake, exhaust and maybe even tune it.
Not sure what other upgrades I should do... input would be appreciated!
Anyone else on here from AZ?

Welcome! Its good to see someone new here who actually has THE car. Too many window shoppers as of late. Anyways, I'll cut to the chase. Your order of performance mods is off. The tune should probably be the first thing you do, not a maybe. Intakes are kind of a waste because of the hp to $ ratio. And exhaust is completely subjective. If you like the sound but want a little more, just get mikes h-pipe secondary cat delete. Headers will give you best hp and sound gains but tone is completely different. Row airboxes have been a universally accepted mod around here. Intake spacers DO work despite what people who DON'T have them say. As far as cosmetic stuff, well thats completely up to you.

Congrats on the new car, very nice.
There is someone selling a H&R coilover package at the moment. I think for $600
Headers along with a tune really transform the car. Turns it into an absolute beast.
If you don't have the factory fitted LSD, then I would strongly recommend getting one of the aftermarket ones.

Don't do headers if you plan to daily. I just did mine and it's a bit much (sound & power). Stick to tune and rows that should be plenty. Its going to be about $1250 in mods and you should be set for a while, till you get used to the power that is.

I disagree. I DD mine with headers. close to zero drone, beautiful startups, stock under 2.5K rpm, loud when wot, it’s perfect.

Guess I'm just getting older. If I were to drive it every day, I liked the balanced feel of tune, row and spacers. Power pipe for sound. After pulley and headers I feel I definately lost that middle ground. Now I got to be light on pedal or else it wants to break traction or step out all the time. Definately a weekend car only now, for me at least.

Man, what kind of tires and diff do you have? I have a wavetrac and RE-71Rs and I can do a WOT throttle launch on the street with almost no wheelspin. I will agree that the sound is not for everyone. I have catless LTHs and while I am used to it and don't think it's that bad, on roadtrips over 3 hrs, it wears on me a little bit.

mich ps as 3 275 and oem lsd. Its what the car came with so just waiting to wear em out to upgrade. Didn't have any traction problems (v6+rows+afe) till the "magic spacers" mod. As I added stuff like ud pulley and now headers, traction has got progressively worse. Comes with the territory i suppose.

Yeah, when I had PSS they were okay. RE-71Rs are much stickier. I might try the PS4S next to see if they are a happy medium. or maybe PSC2s. I just want a sticky tire that doesn't drone and groan and make weird noises over different surfaces.

@OP, Congrats! Be sure to check out THE OFFICIAL W204 AMG FAQ, tons of great info in there. As some others mentioned, an LSD is a must, ROW airboxes & filters are good to get as well. No need to change the exhaust out, either secondary delete (keeps AMG growl and increases loudness) or resonator delete (more on the raspier side and increases loudness) will do the trick.
Other things to do:
- Remove those ugly orange side markers. Can get clear ones on eBay or you can vinyl wrap them.
- Black out / wrap any trim pieces to match the rest of car.
- A good detail.
- Enjoy it.
