Bluetooth integration

Hi! Just got my first car - a 2006 e350 4matic. While the audio system has capabilities for phone audio integration, it's not already present.

I've looked up an aux to bluetooth adapter that would work for me but the aux port is nowhere to be found. From what I understand, there's something behind the gearbox that can be used but then there's a lot of talk about requiring decoders as well.

How do you guys recommend I go about the matter. What's the quickest/most convenient/cheapest option (excluding a radio transmitter of course)?

Thanks!

The AUX port is in the glove compartment along the top of the opening. I use a Kinova and am happy with it.

If you need to **** around with your phone pull over and do it. There is no reason to be doing that **** while driving. That phone call or text can wait.

IMHO, if your car isn't already wired for the Bluetooth puck, it won't be cost-effective to have it wired. Third party options to work with the stock system are expensive and clumsy, although I have seen threads of some using some relatively inexpensive modules that provide a hands-free solution (phone calls, A2DP).

For truly full integration, do a little research on the Nav-TV/Opti-1 module that will allow you to use any head unit of your choice using the rest of the factory system.
