Does anyone park their car at work?

This may be a simplistic question but i drive my car to work and leave it unattended for 10-12 hrs. I know people have taken selfies in front of the car but i worry about scratches , dents and vandalism from ill wishers. Am i paranoid?

What's the alternative? To have the car circle the block until you're ready to go home?

To answer your question, yes, you're paranoid. It's a car.

Work is fine for me, but I do get just a tad bit wary in mall parking lots and shopping centers so I tend to park further away against a side curb that protects my car. I am able to park, using my reverse mirror, very close to the curb leaving a nice buffer from the next adjacent spot which require severe parking douchebaggery from that driver to come close to my car. But these are parking spots used for maybe 4-5 hours- work is rare for me now but ... when I do, its my own reserved spot.

We don’t have assigned parking. It is a multi tiered , multi level parking. I’ve gotten dents on my SUVs in the past from people backing into my car as they pulled out. No notes or sorry’s left.

We have dedicated, secure, covered parking at work which allows me to use the GTS as a daily driver. Otherwise I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving the GTS in unattended, general public parking. Same way I don't take the GTS grocery shopping, to mall, movie theater, or hardware store. I'd rather use my SUV for those purposes and not have any stress.

What happens when an irate patient finds out where your car is parked? Not that it would ever happen but hypothetically speaking.

I park the GT on the street at work (in West L.A.). When I go to court I park it in the public parking lots. There is safety in anonymity. And when half the other cars around me are fancier and more expensive.

LOL. Try parking at the parking lots around the Stanley Mosk Courthouse. Or the one across the street from the bankruptcy courts on East Temple. You get what you can. And pray.

'Paranoia' = a 'healthy state of awareness'.
Given the lines on this car, a door ding would stand out like herpes.

With my luck, there can be no one in the whole parking lot and I’ll still take the same precautions you take only to come out and find that “one in a f..ng million” douch bag that parked real close next to me. Meanwhile the parking lot will still be empty.

Sometimes parking in the end stall far away from everyone is paradoxically more conspicuous and inviting of vandalism than parking in a regular stall and blending in with the masses.

luck would have it. I parked in a corner today; there was a small car parked near me.
When i left tonight, there was a huge dirty pick up truck parked within inches of my car and there were many empty spots. Talk about douchebags.

Mine is a daily driver, so I have no choice but park it at work. You are not paranoid about your car....just concerned and careful. Parking at work is no issue, but elsewhere I may worry and select the spot as best that I can. I prefer to park around high value vehicles, but there are guarantees with public parking. One of the most worrisome places is my garage. My girlfriend drives a GLE 350 and I often have to get her to repark so that I can open my driver's door. If the opportunity presents, I guide her in so that she misses the GT on her right and the wall to her left.

live in both cali and ny. you are correct way more douchebags in ny. I live about 90 min north of NY city and we call them city idiots or cidiots for short. you should see them plow into cars when getting into and out of a parallel parking spot. I will never park my car along the side of the street because of this.

My nephew parks like that. He told me that’s why the front and back of the car are called “bumpers”

There are douchebags everywhere. The sheer volume of people in NYC in such a confined space just makes it feel like there is more.

This and the recently trending wheel theft in public structures has me not want to take the gtr when parking is involved.
