Race start
hey guys...I’ve read through numerous posts about race start but I can’t find my answer.
I have 1200 miles on my 17 c63 coupe.
I cant seem to get race mode to engage. I wait till engine temp is hot enough depress gas hold both paddles and then press the right paddle. Once I press the gas and hold down the brake and try and go it’s like it skips and deactivated it automatically. Can someone help me out?

Engine and trans oil temp in the white/seat belt on and doors closed and steering straight ahead/switch to race mode and set to manual shifting but don't shift as it will shift for you/
left foot hard on brake/pull both paddles(screen ahead of driver will ask you to pull right to confirm)/pull right to confirm(screen will ask to floor the gas)/right foot full down on gas/rpm will go to about 3500/foot off brake and hold on

Mine is just a c63. I didn’t feel the money was worth the difference bc when I get a tune it’ll have the same output. Does the c63s only have that mode for race on the switch?
also I am pressing the right paddle to confirm.

but does it ask you to confirm by pulling right paddle and then ask you to floor gas?

Yes. It asks me to press the right paddle to confirm then floor the gas and it goes to 4K rpm and then when I take off the brake to have it go it lags really bad and esp shows up

I dont remember if its called race start or not but the non s does have launch control. I have used it a handful of times. if you release the brake too early it will disengage. You must also have the car AND suspension in sport plus mode I believe.

Also what are the stock tire sizes on the coupes? I got mine brand new and it came with Michelin PSS and in the front they’re 255/35/19 in front and 295/30/19 for rears. Seems like most of them come with 265/275 in the rear?

I have an 18 vert.... after reading this thread I went out and tried it. It works exactly as described, pull both paddles, confirm with an upshift while holding brake and stepping on gas and release brake. The menu between the gauges gives instructions. Didn't launch the greatest ...but it works. If you wait too long it deactivates after 5 seconds.

I have the base 18 inch wheels with 245 pss ...and 285 pss on rears.....295 rear are not factory sizes for any of the original wheels available in either sedan or coupe

The non-S has Race Start, I've used it in my car a few times.
To bring it up I just put the car in S+, hold my foot on the brake, and pull back both paddles at once. I get the message that Race Start is active and then floor the gas and release the brake pedal to launch.
Honestly though it's pretty hit or miss in terms of being better than just launching it yourself.
I've tried it with traction control in Sport mode and disabled entirely.
I was at a car show over the weekend and it turned into a bit of a launch control show at the end. I left my TC in sports mode so I wouldn't end up being that guy on YouTube crashing his car on video.

Is it possible that the use of race start is restricted until after the prescribed break-in period? The axle oil service is at 1,850 miles, so maybe it doesn't let you activate it until after you've hit that mileage.
