2013 GLK Opinions

I have been looking at getting back into a GLK350, had a 2010 and traded it in 2016 on a Wrangler, I went and saw a 2012, but it did not have power liftgate, rear view camera, or the pano roof, my 2010 had all those, so I was kind of bummed out, it had 80k miles for $15,500, but the 2012 is white and I like the white exterior.

There is a 2013 loaded out, all the features I had plus Keyless go, not sure on the part assist tho, but it is black, not my first choice, has 102k miles, kind of high, and it is $15,900, they have had it since May 30th, so maybe they will lower it. The good is the service records, it has always been to the local MB dealer, I will call them tomorrow to see what they can tell me beyond what I see on the carfax.

Any 2013 owners out there with any opinion on the 2013 model? I know it has the M276 engine, better mpg, more HP, but what maintenance items have popped up beyond regular wear and tear? Any trans issues? How many miles do you have on yours?

2013 GLK350
86,000 miles. Love my car. My GLK is second hand, I am the second owner got at 70,000 miles.

Built early 2012 October. So I got one of the first facelift GLK. No issues except the door handles are not secured well and makes a noise, this was corrected on the 2014-2015.

Thanks for the info. My biggest concern is 102k miles. This one was delivered May 7 2013 and titled by the first owner in late June 2013

I will go drive it tomorrow to feel the difference between the m272 andm276 engine.

So I went and saw the 102k mile GLK350, it is pretty clean and drove smoothly, all service records were from one of the local MB dealers, I did ask about the trans, there is no record of that being done, the other local MB dealer actually said to not change it, that could cause issues since it has 102k miles. They told me they would not be afraid of buying it with 102k miles, that came from a service advisor.

Sounds like some poor advice.

It is possible, they may be going off experience too, they had one guy who bought a C class with 120k and it was shifting fine, did the trans service and now has all kids of problems, but there was anther guy who bought a GL450 with 95k miles and has not done it yet and its running smooth at 195k miles

Great. If you think it’s going to last forever and trust the seller over the manufacturer when it comes to trans service schedules, go buy it then.
